I first visited Magic Beans flagship store in Brookline two weeks ago after having lunch with a friend who went to college with one of the owners. My friend definitely appreciates thorough knowledge and high quality, which is why I ran over. The store and the STAFF FAR surpassed all my wildest expectations based on my friends recommendation. I was just starting my first ever search for the perfect stroller. I had done a bunch of research online and had an idea of some models/brands that I might like to see and Magic Beans has floor models of most of them! Then the most AMAZING and PATIENT and KNOWLEDGABLE salesperson I have ever met asked if she could help me with anything. Her name is Julie Salvatoriello. If you get to meet her, you must give her a hug. She gives the BEST hugs and, as a pretty legendary hugger myself, I know from hugs! Julie proceeded to walk me through every stroller in the store with kindness and excitement and educated opinions and honest feedback based on what I was looking for in a stroller. She even got in some of them so that I could feel how they handled when fully weighted down! Lol! (Of course I promise they will only be used for our children in practical daily use and not any of the rather large adults in our family!) But it was great to see that these strollers could handle ANYTHING! When she didnt carry certain brands she was able to tell me why - I love how smart and specific the owners/buyers for the company are. They really only choose brands/models that they personally stand behind over years of experience! Next, while we were looking through some umbrella stroller options for our frequent travel adventures, another magical moment happened. I met a mom, with two kids and hubby in tow, who I thought was trying to grab Julies attention, but rather wanted to grab mine! She apologized for interrupting but saw that we were looking at umbrella strollers and she had travelled cross-continent to Asia 18 times before each of her kids had even turned One year old. The stroller she swears by is the Uppababy Gluxe because it got her through everything between the full recline and the easy one hand fold and the light weight and travel strap and the large basket and the durability even with rough airline handling. SOLD! After the mom left I asked Julie what she thought and she nodded in total agreement. To be in an environment where both the customers and the salespeople are equally as passionate is so rare and lovely! Obviously, Magic Beans knows that their clientele is made up of both smart, discerning, experienced parents and lucky parents to be. But it truly seems that they care about each of their clients from the way they treat everyone like welcome VIPS. When I got home, I immediately started a registry as I knew I wanted to support this incredible local business. A few days later I received an email from Pati Brigham, the registry concierge, thanking me for starting a registry and offering to help out with suggestions/advice in any way she could. I took her up on it yesterday while I was browsing the website and asked tons of questions about cribs and diaper bags and even some more stroller comparisons. Just like Julie, she took everything in stride with patience and thoroughness and honesty and fun. She solidified our first choices on strollers with the clear spec comparisons that I was looking for! For anyone whos still reading and interested, we chose the Bob Revolution Flex and the Uppababy Gluxe :-) . Today, I finally got to bring my husband into the store to see what all the fuss was about. We got to meet Mike who was, once again, totally awesome and helpful and amazing! He geeked out with us on teething/nursing items and glider/rockers for almost a half hour after the store closed! He took amazing notes and offered his personal faves and I am so excited to hear from him with his suggestions for where to continue our search. I cannot thank Eli and Sheri enough for creating such an incredibly supportive and smart store. Magic Beans is EXACTLY what we were looking for!

I have been shopping at Magic Beans for years and have never left the store w/o some toy. This was my first time ordering something from them that was not in the store and it ended up being a disaster. They did not call me when the order was supposed to come in, when I called they had no information but promised to call back - which they never did. after the second time they said the order was supposed to arrive they again did not call and when I called they said that the order was never placed. after 10+ days of this going on, I ended up cancelling the order as I got fed up with their incompetency and poor customer service. Too bad as its the closest toy store to our house.

Wow!!! This store is just amazing. They have the best costumer service ever. I went to the store today with my wife but we have been royally served. The employees are off the chain they will take you for a tour and treat you very well. We met a lady name Diana Toma and she was really nice. Took all her time to show us the store and answer with clarity all our questions. If you are looking to buy stuff for your kids I recommend you this store located at 312 harvard st brookline Ma I promise you wont regret it.

This staff of Magic Beans are outstanding. They guided us through the process of choosing a stroller and car seat for our newborn, shipped everything to our home in NJ and even provided outstanding customer service when we forgot the extra base for our second car seat. Truly a stand out store that has turned our entire family from NJ to Newton Ma into life long customers.

I like Magic Beans when I am looking for something on the higher end of things that you cant necessarily see at a store like Babies R Us. They allow you to "test drive" strollers, which is really great. I love Melissa and Doug toys, and they carry a lot of these products.

This place makes it easy for a clueless single guy like myself to pick up present for my nephew on the fly. Theyre really helpful. Just tell them the kids age and they will hook you up and wrap it up 1,2,3 -- make you look like their favorite uncle.
