Wow what a selection. I have walked by this shop many times but came here recently after reading in the Boston Globe that were selling pumpkin spice coffee--my favorite! So stopped by this weekend and was surprised at the inside. They offer any spice one could want. They also had a great selection of grains and beans, I may return to buy some quinoa or french lentils in bulk. The great part is that you can get as much or as little as you want! So you can buy enough spice for that one dish without feeling that your experimentation is huge investment or feel the need to cook that dish three times next week :) My pumpkin spice coffee was reasonably priced at 11.50/Ib.. I found it great tha they were able to grind it for a french press versus the many places with pre-ground beans. I have tried the coffee and its great. The pumpkin flavor is a bit strong for me so I have been blending it with some sumatra but great overall. They also offered some other interesting flavors but cant seem to remember them. I would definitely recommend coming here for something unique. The man that helped me was super nice as well. Bring cash though, they bring you up on an old fashioned cash register and highly doubt they accept card but its part of the charm!

As someone to whom coffee is as relevant as baseball is to the average house cat, this corner stores strengths do not play to my interests. What I did enjoy, however, were the range of miscellaneous foodstuffs on the shelves. I can never seem to figure out where to look for sundried tomatoes in the supermarket and usually give up after about four aisles of searching, so seeing an imported jar with some capers also swimming around in the packing oil meant no regrets about being set back $12.99 for store-bought sundried tomatoes. Many of the other delicacies have a veneer of being hard-to-find as well -- though that could just be that the producers are unfamiliar to me. So I bought a can of tuna which will probably not amaze, but did come in a tin of undetermined origin. Polcaris also has some household items that arent mass-produced, like colorful scouring pads. They last a good long time because I still had the one Id bought on a previous visit. Then again, perhaps this is TMI.

After walking by Polcaris approximately 937483 times over the past 18 years of living in the area, I finally bought some coffee in here last night and ohmygod why did I wait so long? I came home with a half pound each of Italian roast and French roast. Just brewed my morning cup with the Italian roast and its HEAVEN. Im sold for life. All other cups of coffee will pale in comparison from now on.

Great coffee beans, great service, and great price. I paid a little over 5 bucks for a half pound of fresh ground coffee. After having one too many awful cups made from a bag of Dunkins from the grocery store I couldnt resist the promise of actually good coffee. I didnt hang out long enough to learn anything about the store, but the beans are definitely fresh from the roaster.

This place is the best. Imported spices and endless unique cooking necessities. Not to mention the most extensive coffee bean selection in the neighborhood, and its not even close. The owner Bobby makes you feel welcome and is super friendly. The customer service and product quality here is top notch.

This shop not only has great inventory but the people who work there are a pleasure to know. The lemon pepper is to die for and the licorice is amazing, which my friend loves. If your a local or even if you are only in the North End for an hour, stopping at Polcaris Coffee is a must.

I am new to the neighborhood. I just moved here from Los Angeles. Had an extremely LONG drive and pulled into town. The moving truck was an hour behind me so I decided to explore the hood. Walked one block and boom, coffee shop. Great coffee, friendly people. Its my new hangout!

I have come here before, and as someone that *didnt* buy coffee beans here, Im not sure what youd come here for otherwise. So, what Im saying is, come for coffee beans, dont come as a tourist.
