Let me start by saying that I have never taken the time to write a review online about anything and only made a Google account so that I could do just that about this place: About 4 months ago I decided to start growing out my beard. Everywhere I read and anyone I talked to told me to let it grow for about 2 months so that It would then be long enough for a barber to properly cut/ groom it. So after looking scrappy as hell for 2 months I wanted to make sure I found a shop that knew how to cut beards so that it was not all for nothing and I would just end up shaving it all off anyway. After reading the reviews on here I decided to give Boston Barber & Tattoo a try, best choice I have made in a while. I went in on a Saturday morning and was in a chair in about 15 minutes. The Barber (Jerry) spent about 35-40 minutes on my hair and beard and I couldn’t of been any more impressed/ happy with how it came out. On top of the great beard trim and haircut for a VERY fair price the atmosphere, people and conversation was all fantastic! Just to give an example, my barber Jerry was talking to me about how best to take care of my beard and what I should be doing to groom it the right way and Rob (who I think is the shop owner) overheard us talking. He came over and handed me a bottle of beard wash a rep had gave him as a sample to try. He told me to try it out and if I liked it he would carry the product in the shop, this was my 1st time ever in this shop so needless to say the first impression was very good! When I went in for a second time I decided to make an appointment to get my existing tattoo touched up for the summer. I ended up designing a large rib piece to go around my existing tattoo instead with Cat a tattoo artist at the shop. Just to clarify when I say “I” and “design” in the same sentence I mean I gave Cat a picture of a tree and she created/ drew up an unbelievable tattoo. In all the tattoo took about 7 hours and 2 sessions and was located on my ribs. I am ecstatic with the way the tattoo came out and when I get another tattoo I will 100% be going back to Cat at Boston Barber and Tattoo. I would recommend Boston Barber & Tattoo to anyone looking for a great haircut, beard trim or tattoo and will continue to be going here as long as I live in Boston.

Out in Boston for work and needed a cut. Boston Barber & Tattoo (North End) was the only decent-looking place that was open on a Saturday, so I decided to give it a shot. I arrived shortly after they opened (9:10, opened at 9) and the place was packed! I signed-in and made my way to the back where I was greeted with a fresh brewed espresso. Before I knew it, my name was being called. Although there were probably 10+ people waiting, there were 8 barbers working, so it was a non-issue. My ONLY problem with my visit is that the guy that cut my hair (dont remember his name) cut off everything up to my part, even though the outline from my last cut was still there. I understand that everyone has their own style, but Ive never had anyone cut a fade all the way up to the part, Seems like a rookie move for cutting a standard fade. Other than that, he did a good job and it does look halfway decent. Plus, it will grow back. Prices were very reasonable for being in Downtown Boston, so check out the shop, you wont be disappointed. Just make sure to be specific with exactly what you want before the barber starts. I will definitely return if I find myself in Boston and in need of a cut.

Best haircut of all time! Wonderful experience. My son and I went to Boston for the day and decided to get haircuts. Hes 14 and plays hockey, so we chose Boston Barber & Tattoo because we heard thats where some of the Bruins go. A very friendly young lady welcomed us and showed us where to wait. There is a bar with coffee and cold drinks which I thought was a nice touch. The shop was really crowded, but within minutes we were escorted upstairs where there are three more barber chairs. My son, who is ridiculously meticulous about his hair, got a haircut from Michael. My guy was Jerry. Both barbers were amazing. So thorough. My son LOVED his haircut as much as I loved mine - and for $20. The guy I used to go to charged $25 and hardly cared at all what it looked like when he was done. These guys felt more like artists than barbers. Hey, the atmosphere and experience were great, but well be going back simply because the haircuts are the real deal. Thanks, fellas

I liked the atmosphere walking in and perhaps I just had (bad) luck of the draw, but a miserable experience overall. The whole crew is in their twenties and perhaps some are better than others but my barber took off WAY more than requested, kept dropping comb and scissors, would turn away to talk while cutting, and repeatedly asked if he could leave early. For the actual cutting I felt manhandled, enjoying the sort of delicacy usually reserved for a machete, not a straight razor. Who knows, maybe Ill wake up and the mirror will tell me it was worth it. If Im ever in a jam I might gamble again, but for those who recognize the value of a clean classic cut just pay the extra $5 and book ahead at Barbershop Deluxe or similar high-end establishments and stick with the pros.

Simply great! I would give it more stars if I could. Happened to be in Boston, happened to need a haircut and happened to find this great barber shop. Walked in, joined the list and had a coffee waiting for my turn on their cool coffee shop next to a great tattoo artist on the job. In less than fifteen minutes they got me on the chair. Over the result I will simply resume it with the best adjective possible: Professional. Just a few words and they got what I wanted. The result was great. Really cool place, really cool people and really great results for a good price. Id go every month here if I didnt happen to live thousands of kilometers away ;)

Just came out of there, got heart (kokoro) written in japanese kanji on my upper chest, almost neck, and i have a skin thing called dermographism, i literally scratched my arm to show them, everything that hits my skin leaves a massive red mark, raised, an inch or more, and the guy was amazing. He was so gentle that my skin barely got red, no bumps, bruises, anything, finished it without no problems. They asked for my consent and everything before the tattoo, due to the skin thing, and i had absolutely no problems at all. I doubt i could ever find somewhere better to go. Amazing work!

I randomly stumbled upon Boston Barber Co a couple of weeks back. After waiting less than five minutes I got a cut from Ricky. Lets just say he crushed it! I was sick of the same "bro cut" Ive been getting since freshman year of college so I told him to give me a "2015 haircut". Less than 24 hours after the haircut I was getting a stupid amount of compliments and even met a very cute girl that weekend. Ask for Ricky when you go he will hook it up guaranteed! Emmett
