Y. U. M. I love these doughnuts!! Ive tried the cinnamon sugar, the old fashioned chocolate glazed, and the b-day cake and all were delicious, though I prefer the chocolate and cinnamon sugar. The staff is super friendly and nice. Really like the people theyve hired. I used to live in the neighborhood and I think it would be a scary addiction if I still did. The ambience is TINY. Theres no place to sit and have coffee/doughnut and chit chat. I wish there was a place for that, but thats really indicative of the space, not the food, so Ill just cross my fingers and hope they can expand at some point! Or maybe some outdoor tables this summer? Also, I appreciate that they sell out of things, but I agree with the other commenters who feel like the pressure is on--wake up early and get there, or you dont get the selection. Id like their inventory to last a little longer. Overall, Im a huge fan!

The reviews are true and blackbird doughnuts is definitely worth trying! The line was far out the door when I arrive but the line moved quickly and the doughnuts were worth the wait. They sell out quickly and only five types of doughnuts were available by the time I got there (about 1 in the afternoon on a weekday). I got an assorted dozen, I cant remember the names of all of them but hands down the best was the salted toffee. It was the perfect fluffy doughnut. All of them are dense, rich doughnuts which is why I suggest if youre someone who doesnt eat food like this very often, go easy on them. I decided to eat three in one sitting and my stomach wasnt the happiest about that. Other than that Id 100% go back again earlier to try their other selections.

Happy days are here again!!! Places like this is what this country was built on!!! As you enter, the smell of freshly baked donuts fills your senses and curiosity of their taste fills your mind. You take notice to the cleanliness within and a nicely set up visual display of what is causing you to forget all your troubles. At that point you are greeted with a sincere warm friendly smile. Service = 10 Atmosphere = 10 Cleanliness = 10 Presentation= 10 Operation = 10 Taste = 10 Good job Black Bird!!! Im definitely coming back! Note to all businesses: You can definitely learn from these guys! SACPOT score = 5 Stars

Im a sucker for a good sweet treat, especially if its made fresh and local (unlike Dunkin), you actually can see the bakery where the guy is preparing the donut and cracking out the good stuff. I appreciate the boutique feel of the store and the limited selections, they focus on one thing and they do it right. I initially had the Salted Lemon Pepper donut which amazed me. The subtle sweetness wasnt overpowering and the hint of pepper was nice. Later I went back and got a half-dozen, this time I choose the following and loved each of them: - Vanilla Glaze - Coffee & Bacon - Black Raspberry White chocolate - Maple Peanut Butter - Black Forest Mismark - Cranberry Cobbler

The best doughnuts in Boston. Ive tried most of their flavors and have never been disappointed. I usually get the lavender glaze if the have it. Their coffee is also on point... Yes its a little expensive but its a gourmet doughnut shop. The thing is... *The doughnuts are so rich and filling, (for most people) one doughnut is good for 2 people! **This is my go to place for a colleague at work who likes her sweets, I pick up two for the office of 7 and everyone is happy at the start of their shift) If you want to experience a real doughnut, look no further... Enjoy, I know I do everything visit this little slice of sugary heaven.

Got these on Sunday and they were still great on Monday. The line was quick. We tried: chocolate peanut butter:I thought it was too dense but my coworkers liked it lemon coconut: the favorite of the group. Perfect amount of both flavors and still a very soft doughnut chocolate raspberry: the least favorite of the group. Needed more of the chocolate flavor to me and another person thought it was strawberry vanilla glazed: I got this one as it was the most plain (I thought) and would be a good example of what they can do with the basics and it was great. Very vanilla-y but not overwhelming

This little donut shop was hopping. They constantly rotate donut flavors and offer different types of donuts (yeast and cake as well as filled. Oh and they even do small donut cakes now!!) While waiting in line, you can watch them busily make donuts. I tried the vanilla glaze which is a strong classic donut. It did not disappoint. My husband tried a special, toffee with Jameson. He said it was really delicious! Best enjoyed with milk or coffee! No sitting inside, its super small. There are 2 benches outside which are usually taken up. So be prepared to take your donuts on the go!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for some donuts and was surprised they hadnt run out. The close at 3pm so get there early! They have plenty of types of donuts and doughnut holes as well as drinks. Doughnuts are $3 each which is pretty similar to other doughnut shops in the area and they have some really interesting flavors. I got the lemon coconut which was excellent and tried the blackberry chocolate which was also very good. These are yeast doughnuts so a bit lighter and fluffier then your average doughnut.

I love trying or new donut places and this is now one of my favorites. The original blackbird cake donut with vanilla glaze is a must. Also tried a lemon berry one that was good. Shop is small and they also serve coffee, the staff was also really friendly. Cost about $5 for two donuts. Parking can be tricky, there are some street spots in front with meters. I commute in from outside of Boston and was there by 7am so I didnt have an issue parking but later in the morning could be a problem. LOVE the donuts

Blackbird Doughnuts definitely makes the top 3 best doughnuts in Boston. They may set you back $3/doughnut, but they are pretty large and worth every penny. There is a rotating menu of sorts, so its always interesting to see what creative doughnuts they have at any given time. If you can get your hands on the maple peanut butter or coffee bacon, you wont be disappointed. I recommend going earlier rather than later, as they often sell out of a lot by the end of the day.

Hands down my favorite doughnut shop! I was a little skeptical of an "artisanal doughnut" shop with $3 doughnuts... but the huge raised (yeasted) doughnuts are worth every penny. I also really like the coffee, although it is a bit on the dark side for modern tastes. Personally, I stay away from the cake doughnuts which are smaller and perhaps oilier tasting....just give me the raised doughnuts and a cup of joe (or the hot apple cider in the winter), any day!
