When it opened many years ago now, a lot of the locals looked forward to being served by a modern alternative to the decrepit Magruders that had served the community up to that point. Sadly, the state of this store is now nearly as bad as Magruders at its low point. Staff is well-meaning, but not very well trained. They dont know their own stock and have repeatedly directed me to the wrong section of the store when I asked about something. The checkout staff has to call over a manager for every little irregularity. Most of them appear unaware of company-wide policies - I have had to contact the corporate office on more than one occasion to notify them that their stated policies are not being adhered to. Their also seem to have difficulty keeping their checkout systems working properly. I have been repeatedly overcharged (necessitating a time consuming price check and manager intervention), and the self checkout ALWAYS, without fail, requires cashier inintervention. Coupons need to be manually scanned by staff (apparently they dont trust their customers to do it). Produce is highly variable in quality. If you get there at the right time, it can be very nice; most of the time, however, it is mediocre at best (and wilted and rotten at worst). The seafood department generally smells, and the meat department regularly features improperly packaged, discolored items. This Shoppers has sadly become a lower-class grocery capitalizing on its monopolistic place in the neighborhood. Fortunately there exist lots of alternatives if you are not forced to walk to get your groceries. Those of my neighbors who do have such a limitation are, however, pretty much out of luck.

Pretty clean. Decent salad bar and hot food bar. Lines always seem long. Today I was waiting in the fast check out line and the guy from the customer service desk took the two people at the end of the line that had just walked up (I had been waiting for over 5 mins for the cashier to figure out snow peas in the register system). That kind of irked me. He should have waived me over not the people that just strolled over Then when leaving an employee tried to bum a cigarette from me while he was working! I wasnt even smoking! Funny how little things are what get a place a bad review

Im told the prices are really cheap, they are only expensive for me because we just moved here from Texas. They have a Redbox, pharmacy, flowers, deli, and even a bakery. Its crazy how every store charges you for plastic bags in Maryland. So if you werent aware, bring reusable bags or prepare to be charge like 5 cents per bag. A nice selections. Love the international section.

I am shopping in this store for 5 years. The prices are competitive compare to nearby grocery stores. The stuffs are nice and friendly, and the products are fresh. The only two stuffs I dont like are their Pineapples and Mangoes. Their Mangos are imported from Mexico and are the lowest qualities of mangoes I have ever seen. Their pineapples have no taste at all.

Clean, well stocked, but understaffed and a little overpriced on the basics. Dont be fooled by sales here, they clearly mark up and then reduce prices to appear cheaper but price comparisons with other stores reveal the truth. Produce and meat are relatively fresh, however.

I am fairly certain that the prices are a good 10-15% cheaper than Giant and Safeway. There are many sale items too. Often Shoppers has a coupon in the newspaper for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more. The store brands at Shoppers, I find, are of fairly good quality.

Quick and well managed store, in and out in no time. I love their prepared foods and good prices. Im from Ohio and accustomed to better customer service than what I see at most places around here, but Shoppers is always on point!

Everything is really cheap, but be careful with expiration dates. Ive found expired food/produce several times. Most of the produce is bad too. The service is absolutely terrible as well.

Shoppers food has become very expensive. Safeway has the best sales every week. I recommend Safeeay and Giant. Shoppers warehouse sales deals are nothing compared to the others.
