The selection and price of groceries is decent, though not anything to crazy about. However, their customer service is so bad that it borders on ridiculous. They have tons of checkout lanes but even during the busiest times of the day, they will have 2 open, plus a couple of express lanes which are only 15 items or fewer. The people who work the registers are agonizingly slow. Without any exaggeration or hyperbole, you should expect 15-25 minutes of waiting time in line during weekday evenings or on the weekend. The person at the register who checked out my groceries this afternoon was extremely rude. When you pull into the garage, it is plastered with signed saying 2-hours free parking with validation. Ive been to this grocery store dozens of times (for some stupid reason), and every single time the person at the register has validated my parking. When I went to the urgent care center that uses the same garage, they validated my tickets. Today, I pulled out my ticket and asked for it to be validated. The employee was extremely rude, saying it didnt need to be validated. I was confused seeing as every other time it has been validated and there are signs everywhere saying the tickets need to be validated. She was short tempered and rude, basically yelling repeatedly and other employees around her, just started laughing. They also have an unreasonably high rate of pricing errors. Id say about 75% of the time there are blatant errors made on our bill. For example, today instead of ringing up two bags of coffee at buy on get one, it rang up as $2 off one bag. I walked towards the customer service desk, which in retrospect was a stupid idea because Ive never seen anyone working the CS desk. No one was there, but an employee walked past me. She asked me what I needed. I responded, "Oh, I...." She then rudely cut me off (she asked me what I needed, remember?) and semi-yelled at me "Just get in any line!" As stated above, waiting in line would have taken probably 20 minutes of wasted time. I had no idea I could care this much about a grocery store, but Ill definitely be going out of my way to avoid it from now on. With the Giant just down the street and the new Whole Foods, there is no reason to keep going here. I know that no store is perfect, but having gone to other grocery stores in the area and in DC, this place is unacceptably under-staffed and the employees are rude and undertrained.

I have had mixed experiences with this grocery store. Let me begin by saying how much I enjoy having such a store in the area. Safeway is a great edition to the community and I love their food. (Side note: I know that many stores in the area accept WIC, but this store nicely marks all such items, which some local stores do not). I find it odd that so many places in the store look really used. Some handles are missing from freezer doors, the elevator was once out of service, and other places look several years old. It seems odd that such a new establishment (this was a parking lot about a year ago!) has so many things falling apart. My other issue has been with the bakery. Three times now weve ordered cakes to be ready and were assured they would be. Three times weve gone in to get the cakes and the bakery had no record of our request. On the whole the staff here is generally friendly. Weve not really experienced any rudeness and most employees have seemed generally interested in helping us. One final note: make sure you read Safeways policy for mistakes as posted at the counter. Safeway has to give you credit for any mistakes that come up on your receipt (I believe the item is free if the mistake is under $5 and they give you a $5 credit if the mistake is more than $5).

For a brand new Safeway its slacking a lot. For example there are no self check outs. The 15 items or else line is one line with multiple cashiers (pointless in my opinion.) If you enter through the upstairs garage theres no way to get a cart and the wait for the elevator is long. Some employees are kind of rude. Its new though and theres a coffee spot inside.

There are never enough registers open and the lines are always long. It should not take over 20 minutes to check out. The customer service there started out fine, but has gone downhill over the past few months. The bright side: they are usually well-stocked, the store is neat and clean, parking is easy and the produce and fresh meat choices are awesome.

This store is ABSOLUTELY breathtaking. Fresh produce, quality meats, every shelf stocked neatly, and great Safeway prices. And the Customer Service was impeccable. Thank you Willie Harris (MOD) for ensuring our first shopping experience was a memorable one. My 6yr old is STILL talking about his m&m cookie!!!! THIS Mom will definitely be back. :-D

This is the newest grocery store around here. It is well stocked. The staff is helpful and friendly. There are never long lines when I go and the one time there was one, it went pretty fast and the manager called a cashier to come and get it down fast. It is very clean and the prices are decent.

12/01/2016 waiting 20 minutes for a money order assistant come out says "she was in bathroom" how can I help you? I say I waiting on money order, she say not working. That is the poorest customer service by a manager in my life. No sigh saying money orders out. Just nothing!!!!!

Really nice Safeway and great customer service. The location isnt that great and because of it being in a high traffic area youre limited to 2 hours of free parking validated once you check out so dont stay too long or forget to get your stamp.

Its a good store. Prices higher than they should be. I still get most of my produce from the Latin market on Adelphi rd, produce is super fresh and half price. They have a good selection of most grocery items tho!

Best grocery store in the area. The hot food bars, sub station, and pizza stations are fantastic, and their selection of organic and exotic produce is AMAZING. Never shopping at Giant again!
