My family lives in Bowie and we have been BJs members for more than 10 years. This morning I had a very insulting experience with BJs and I have to voice our my concerns and frustrations on Google so other customers can shop with caution. This morning after sending my children to school, I was in a super good mood and clipped some BJs coupon, longing for a relaxing shopping fun before the holiday season starts. Everything was fine, and I checked out my 20 some items with a register (#7) and went to the front door. The door man (Robert P) there checked receipt took like five minutes and said: "there is one item that you did not pay for!" I was surprised and he then pointed to the deer park water. Okay, I thought since I left the water on the cart so the register might have missed. Things happen we all understand. SO I went back, waited for the same register in line, and she was surprised that the water did not ring. She said the scanning machine might be not functioning at that moment. I was still in a good mood and said "No problem" to her and went back to the front door. Then the saddest part occurred. After I politely showed my receipt of the water to the front door man Mr. Robert again, he looked suspicious and examined my cart one more time, and asked me for the information. I felt so insulted in front of many people for a mistake that was caused by either the register or the scanner in the store. After like a million seconds, he finally let me go. There must be some practice that was wrong here. I will highly unlikely to shop again in that store just because of this experience. Over the whole event, it all seemed to be the customers fault, but IT IS NOT!!! When I mentioned to the manager of the BJs about my experience, there is no willing to improve. I am deeply disappointed.

BJS WHOLESALE ON 16520 BALL PARK RD. MD. 20716. I WENT THERE ON 5/25/2013 TO PURCHASE A LAPTOP COMPUTER. I PAID FOR IT IN FULL AT THE REGISTER AND WHEN I WENT TO PICK IT UP AT THE SERVICE COUNTER , I WAS TOLD THAT THE ONLY ONE AVAILABLE FOR SALE WAS "THE DISPLAY". NOW LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR. THERE WAS NO SIGN IN THE COMPUTER DISPLAY AREA THAT READ "DISPLAY ONLY" OR MAYBE THE CASHIER SHOULD HAVE TELL ME THAT I WAS BUYING SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT A BRAND NEW UNIT AT FULL PRICE. THE WORST PART IS , THAT THE LADY FROM THE SERVICE COUNTER CALLS HER SUPERVISOR (MR. SARHETY) TO TRY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE SINCE I TRY TO EXCHANGE THE FIRST LAPTOP(THE ONE THEY DIDNT HAVE) FOR A SECOND LAPTOP THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE IN STOCK AS WELL BUT , THEY (BJS). DID NOT HAVE THAT ONE EITHER. MR SARHETY WAS SUPER RUDE TO ME AND MY FAMILY AND DIDNT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO HELP US AT ALL. NOW I HAVE TO WAIT FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG TO GET THE MONEY REFUNDED TO MY BANK. I USED DEBIT TO PURCHASE THE LAPTOP BUT THEY WILL ONLY REFUND THE MONEY AS CREDIT LEAVING ME AND MY FAMILY CLOSE TO $400 SHORT FOR OUR TRIP/VACATION . WE ARE FROM VIRGINIA. WE WERE IN MARYLAND CELEBRATING MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY AND THE LAPTOP WAS HER GIFT. WE ARE NOT WEALTHY PEOPLE. MR SARHETY (I MAY BE MISSPELLING HIS NAME,SORRY) IS A RUDE , RUDE INDIVIDUAL. PERIOT. BJS . YOU SHOULD NOT SELL SOMETHING , YOU DONT HAVE... I HAVE THE RECIEPT AND PICS OF THE COMPUTER DISPLAY AREA WITH DATE AND TIME. TERRIBLE SERVICE . TERRIBLE...

I didnt want to go back to the Tire Department after a bad experience years ago. At the persistence of a dear friend, I changed my mind because it was closer than where I initially wanted to go. But, once again, it proved to be a horrible experience!! Do NOT use the Tire Department for anything! My car was in the bay (only room for 2 cars), for 2 whole hours!!! I asked if everything was ok, and the older gentleman acted aggravated, and replied, it is Black Friday, we are backlogged and very busy. Seriously, there were only two bays, and I was in the one bay not kiddin, two hours!! Once my car was done, and the only service they do perform there is tires, I drove away with my car wobbling. Well, I wobbled home, thank goodness it wasnt far, because one side of the car the lug nuts were not even tightened!! My tires were coming off ~ they are lucky my sons didnt return with me to complain, it was unbelievable and unacceptable. My sons drove up to my car with my friend in it and tightened the lug nuts and told me to go back to have BJs right this wrong. Well, the Manager Jackie F., was awesome, but the Auto Manager had an attitude was upset that he had not eaten during the day. No care for my safety or my friends whatsoever. Just repeated over and over again that he did not eat that day, yet, he was the one who signed off on the trainee who did not take care of car. Hate their tire department always have, always will.

I work here, and Ill tell you like this: your experience will depend on the day you come in, what youre buying, and who rings you up. Some of the managers here really dont care about members, and some of them really do. There are some really great people who work here (Im not including myself, youll have to meet me and decide that on your own). One good thing Ive noticed is that the store honors store as well as manufacturer coupons... a bad thing is that they dont trust their members, if you dont carry the kind of membership that includes your picture on the card, then you cant write a personal check. If you should decide to come in, be sure to post about your experience on here.

Bad tire experience. They never answered their phones so I could set an appointment. Told the phones dont work. Had to pick up my tires and take to a different location to be installed.. I know they work by appointments at Bowie however there were no cars in the bays. So I guess they do nothing even when people dont show for their time slots. I showed up In between those time slots. So I call the Capital Heights location and guess what someone answers the phone. Needless to say I got them installed there the same day. Side note, my wife had an unpleasant experience at Bowie regarding a flat repair, thats a whole another story.....will be buying tires elsewhere for sure!!!!

AVOID!! I could not be more DISAPPOINTED in the quality and freshness of their meat and produce. Over the last year, in three separate visits, I have unknowingly purchased ground beef that smelled like feces, rotten chicken, and peaches that were apparently frozen resulting in discolored, mushy flesh with no flavor at all. I dont know if the meat was left outside of the meat case elsewhere in the store by another customer and then placed back in the case or if the overall quality control is lacking. We have been using BJs in Bowie, MD for the convenience after moving from an area where we were Sams and Costco customers. We never had these issues at Sams or Costco!

So, I got a 50% off membership offer in the mail right before my planned memorial day cookout. Having gone "hog wild", Im pretty sure I saved a pretty penny on everything from the grill favors to the disposables. The layout takes some getting used to and it is easy to get distracted with all the deals and bargain prices. I, being a single Dad, do not shop in bulk often enough for the grocery shopping to keep the membership. Perhaps other deals might make me think otherwise. -One Hunnit, out!
