I applaud your store for paying for more expensive bags to help the environment. But if one customer wants her order to be double-bagged, is that such a big deal? Arent you still coming out ahead? I can easily see why she would be offended by resistance. I would almost certainly have the same reaction. You lost a lot more money by ticking off your customer than you would have just double bagging the order, even if you double-bagged her order every single time. Now shell shop at a store that will double-bag her order without the attitude, washing out any extremely tiny environmental contribution you made in the first place. Treat your customers courteously. Thats the bottom line.

Cool Neighborhood Beverage shop...By far the best in the downtown /Mt Vernon area. Tucked in the Charles Plaza across from the Super Fresh grocery store. They have an excellent selection of affordable and premium wines representing every major wine region. I have compared prices with several other neighborhood shops around Baltimore and find their prices comparable if not lower. The beer cooler is stocked with what appears to be a carefully considered assortment of interesting premium beers and standard staples. I find the staff at Urban Cellars knowledgeable and happy to give recommendation. Truly a cool place to stock up on beverages and an asset to the neighborhood.

I have been going to this store since it opened a few years ago. I live in the community and Urban Cellars is a welcome addition to it. I have not witnessed or heard of any racism going on in this place. The staff itself is very mixed. All of the staff members are friendly and very knowledgeable about the contents of the shop. I don’t know who these other reviewers are referring to when they talk about bad customer service. I highly recommend Urban Cellars for its knowledgeable and friendly staff, best beer and wine selection in downtown, and affordable prices.

i live in the neighborhood and some times buy from these guys. it cracks me up to see the owner being so defensive, because i agree with the negative reviews about this place. the few times ive gone in here, theres been a feeling from everyone who works the counter that theyre doing me a favor. usually, its a couple of twentysomethings who seem to have no social life outside their job. its kinda like that movie, clerks. i really dont care if the owner is a racist, but i do agree their customer service sucks.

I spend -- or USED TO spend -- $80 or so a week at this shop. Today I went in and asked for double-bagging on my wine purchase and got a load of attitude. The bags are expensive; theyre strong enough to use just one; you dont need two; etc. etc. etc. I got the TSK!! + Eye Roll when I insisted. Completely cheesed me off. Ill be shopping at wine shops that are happy to give a loyal customer one extra stupid bag.

These guys are awesome‎ - ‎ - Today This place is great, there is no racism going on here. Just ask them what you want and they will lead you to what you like. Ive been to many beer stores in many states and this is the best. I highly recommend it to any new comer to town
