I dropped off a window screen and storm window to be repaired. I left a 30 dollar deposit. The young girl who wrote the ticket was very helpful. She described in detail the work that was required. Replace the screen, broken glass and replace the seal. I picked up the screen and window and the seal was not replaced and the tension on the screen was not porperly fit. I big dissapointment because they wanted to charge me another 45 dollars to work. Poor workmanship and poor customer services. The owner, directed me to consult with the laborer who completed the task, rather than trying to resolve the issue with me. 75 dollars for a new piece of glass and window screen is not fair market value not even for a small corner general store.

AWFUL service, and the only hardware store where workers DONT KNOW PRICES to their own stock. when shopping at ayd, one might find ones self being accused of "assaulting" the cashier, when simply verbally asking for service after waiting exorbitantly long and being ignored completely by every worker in store. Absolutely childish cashier, possibly one good employee in total. AVOID if you want to avoid being accused of any number of legal "violations". Ridiculous. Absolutely Ridiculous. I have been a customer for over two years, and will NEVER be going to ayd again for anything. at all. EVER.

Ayd Hardware is within walking distance from my house and Ive been a customer for decades. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The inventory is perfect for everyday hardware items and it sure beats making the long trek to a big box store.
