I really like this place but I really feel like it has changed for the worst over the last year or so. Items used to be priced so they were affordable and now with access to the internet/eBay, you can tell whoever is pricing is doing so as a reflection of what they are being sold on on-line. Anyone with any type of financial situation buys from the internet and eBay but for those of us who have large families and limited funds are looking for "thrift store prices." I used to buy a lot but purchasing there has significantly decreased. They are way too expensive. There were a few standard empty picture frames for 8 x 10 or 5 x 7s selling for $5.00 each. There are better deals at A.C. Moore. It is, after all a thrift store where goods are donated. There is a lamp there right now selling for $225 and yes, it is gorgeous but for those of us who try to find items for our homes economically, who has the money to buy this and I have a full time job? I really think they need to re-examine their pricing strategies.

Still A Good Cause Thrift Shop is one of the last of the affordable places people on fixed incomes can go to for clothing and other goods. And its a perfect place to treasure hunt for anyone! With the rise of vintage and consignment shops in Portland, prices for second hand clothes are high in the city compared to this shop. Its unpretentious, friendly, and the items are always in great shape. I was very upset when the Salvation Army on Alder St closed because it was a much needed resource for the community. Good Cause is a nonprofit that supports various charities and the community by keeping prices down. It truly is a blessing.

This store is very common. Sparse amount of items priced for sale for the size of space they are using to house the store. Items are cheap, "modern", W*Mart quality. No vintage items. Mens Ware and accessories low to none. Home good items are very much like a "General $" store quality. Staff is amicable and abundant but that does not make up for lame selection. Plus, there seems to be quite a copious amount of street persons/hobos both inside the store "shopping" and lining the sidewalks outside. Would NOT try again. Save yourself the trouble and cost of parking.

This is the nicest store. All items are in excellent shape. It is clear they take pride in the store. I have shopped there for several years and have always been satisfied with the quality and price. All items are donated and the staff take great measures to assure all items are clean, neat and in good working condition. This store is a must to visit!!!

This Thrift Shop is one of the few that supports a cause I can believe in (and doesnt advocate AGAINST groups like LGBT.) There is always someone there to help me unload the car, offer-up a receipt promptly and thanks me for my generosity. I am thrilled to donate goods to them!

I discovered this store, near our hotel (Estland, aka The Westin Portland Harborview). "Good Cause" is packed with treasures, and it supports care for homeless people in Portland.

got a great jacket from some nice folks for cheap. Also there was the funniest crowd out front. Loved it
