EXCELLENT food and coffee, truly top notch- but the design of this place could really be re-considered if they want to succeed? The overall flow and functionality of this restaurant is awkward. The HUGE centrally located group-seating plank-table cuts off (in both height and width) what could be an open and accommodating eating area. The location of the coffee-pouring and the creamer/sugar/lid-service stations are about 20 feet apart- a span which is entirely blocked by customers waiting to order. It forces customers to plead multiple "pardon-mes" as they try to push through this group- while holding brimming cups of hot coffee? We found it really loud inside and so went outside with our food. The heavy cast-concrete cafe tables were impossible to move and the unstable steel cafe stools easily fell over as we sat on them. (These falls could hurt -or even break- any childs or flip-flop wearers toes?) In addition, there were no umbrellas provided on the patio- so we sat in the full July morning sun. Ouch. We were excited to try DD and appreciated the food, but were overall frustrated by the experience of eating there. We may go back for the food, but will sadly not stay to eat. Should District Donuts read this review- please know that we love to support local and we would LOVE to stay to eat? (I am distressed to find that DD seems to be yet another contemporary eatery where hip-aesthetics translates into poor functionality for the public? I hope this recent butcher-block inspired, noisy, group-seating restaurant-design-trend gets some much needed "form follows function" reform. )

So glad this New Orleans original made its way to Baton Rouge. The doughnuts are unlike those sold at many chains like Mary Lee and Krispy Kreme for two reasons: the doughnut itself is much less sweet yet more filling (theyre also quite large), and the flavors are of the "trendy" sort. This place has flavors like strawberry basil, matcha sesame, cereal + milk, and others. It might not be for everyone, but its done extremely well. They rotate the flavors and post on social media which ones will be available each morning. Three flavors are always available: glazed, chocolate glazed, and cinnamon sugar. Some other highlights are the Vietnamese iced coffee, which strikes a perfect balance between bitter and sweet, and the chai latte, which is a little spicier than it is sweet, unlike chai lattes youll find at other Baton Rouge establishments.

District has been a favorite stop of mine anytime I am in New Orleans, and now I can enjoy it more often! Great location with ample parking and easy access from the main roads. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Quick service even on their third day open with a line wrapping inside and leading out the door we were served within 15 minutes. The donuts are unique and not what most people think of (far from being chocolate frosted sugar bombs). There is a good balance of sweet, savory, and a kick of flavor in every bite. Coffee is freshly crafted before your eyes, and quite beautifully I may add. My personal favorite is the cold brew on tap. All the flavor you want from coffee with no bitterness. A perfect pair with the sweet of your donut. *Have not had sliders or breakfast sandwiches yet, will update once I do*

Consider them cakes, not donuts. For $3.50, extra-fancies are very expensive donuts. As cakes, they are excellent for taste (variety of not-too-sweet creams) and price. We are regularly going there instead of La Madeleine. Their sliders are good but do not justify their hefty price (we liked bulgogi, though it should be called kalbi). Their croquenuts are interesting, but nothing to write home about. I am leaving right now to pick up their donuts again. Yum.... p.s. I just came back. One suggestion to the store. You need deeper to-go boxes, as those in Magazine store. The box is too shallow and the icing on top made a mess with the top of the box....

The food isnt bad really. But Im not entirely sure why everyone loses their mind over this place. Its not awful, the service is quite nice. Ill give them that. But to be honest with you, the donuts are all bread. For the price, I expect a bit more. To me, donuts should have a better balance and not so dry. The milk is from a local Louisiana dairy so thats great! Its fun to have wild toppings I guess but it gets old. Hopefully the designer donut trend dies a hard death sooner than later.

Very friendly and fun staff. The food was really good. Enjoyed the atmosphere. I can see where people think the music is to loud... I was there by my self picking up a to order so I enjoyed the music while I waited but I can see how it might have been a little but to loud if I was sitting and eating with someone. Just wouldnt want it turned to low where it becomes awkward... Dont blame em its a hard level to perfect when the place is so new! Going to go again!

Employee at the cash register was rude. Got some water, sat down, was about to drink some and noticed white matter floating in my cup. My husband gave it to one of the employees and she said, I dont know what that is and dumped it out. Witnessed another employee stick her ungloved finger in a donut and fill it with filling. Also witnessed said employee dip donut in icing and wipe excess off with her ungloved finger. Never again.

When I first heard about District Donuts in New Orleans, I had been wanting to drive to NOLA specifically just to try them out based on so many positive testimonials. Now that I have tried him here in Baton Rouge, I was absolutely Blown Away by the very friendly atmosphere and great customer service along with the very delicious food. I will definitely be back many times over to sample of many different Donuts that they have.

Wonderful experience! We went for the Sunday opening and were blown away with how pleasant the service experience was despite the crowd. The food was amazing and justly priced. I loved the atmosphere. Cant wait to go back once they calm down. But then again I hope they never do. Busy means business and I hope theyre doing it here for many years to come!

The donuts arent hot, as they are decorated and sometimes stuffed. But the flavors they have are always creative and delicious. They post each days donut selection on social media. But they have consistently amazing coffee and Espresso beverages. Highly highly recommend.

Went here on opening weekend. The line was very long, but we were still in and out in 15 minutes. The donuts taste like they were just made and are incredible!!! In addition to donuts, we got a growler of cold brew which was also delicious! Highly recommend!

Love it--so glad they opened at the Towne Center putting good use the vacancy that once was Starbucks. The donuts are different from the typical ones Ive tried in the past and very reasonably priced. They soft opened on 5/19. Welcome to the capital city!

The coffee is good! I do not recommend the espresso tho. Wide variety of unhealthy, sugary, and diabetic donuts. Loved them, you gotta try them all! My new favorite place after Ronnies!
