took in a 1922 peace silver dollar today to see what they would offer. Now even in poorest condition a 1922 peace silver dollar is worth at least 12.50 ABOVE the intrinsic melt value... which is around 15.50 cents on the day I took the coin up there. MY coin is NOT in poor condition but would be considered fine to very fine condition by a reputable dealer and I happen to know this particular coin was valued at just over 40.00 when it was purchased a few years back, and should be worth more like 50.00 in this condition now. Of course I pretended not to know this, and the cute little blonde girl at the counter looks it up and tells me it has NO value above its melt value of 15.50 cents... and then she made me a VERY insulting offer of $7.50. Needless to say I took my coin and left. I had pawned a few things with them before and have been a loyal customer for years, but now that she proved that, if you allow them to assume you know less... they will try to rip you off... they will once again be nothing but the place I go to buy guitar strings (because of location only I assure you) and nothing else. They are obviously only scrappers and not traders when it comes to coins and such, and if thats the case thats fine... she could have at least offered me more than HALF of the melt value for the silver... and since she didnt I have to say they are not even very fair for scrappers if they insist on doubling the money they pay for everything that comes in. I am all about a fair profit for them also but 100% scrap value profit PLUS the entire numismatic value above scrap for the coin... thats robbery. The biggest issue I have is when she lied about it having no numismatic value and ONLY having intrinsic scrap metal value... and since she looked it up online the same as I did... I KNOW she had to have known differently... which means she out and out lied on purpose to try and make a buck off of me assuming I didnt know any better. A LOT of things I can tolerate in a business... they dont have to be the best around... if someone elsewhere offers me more stuff happens... but she could have simply said the truth... that it only had scrap value to HER... but she HAD to pretend that was the case no matter what to make the deal... And that from me garners the highest amount of disrespect and ensured that she and the shop lost a valuable customer for life over one low dollar deal that she just HAD to get shady on. Soon as I find another close place to buy guitar strings... They will never see another penny from me... and I only need strings about once a year... so "mister Money" can kiss my... ... ... well... you get the idea.

It is an alright place to shop. I have sold and bought several things from here and they all worked. My only complaint is that some of the newer staff seem kindve rude when they talk. Whereas you could get a decent pawn-shop deal from the older gentlemen, the newer ones will look on ebay and offer you 1/6th of what is on there. And i do understand they need to be able to make a buck, but i think there is a good middleman that can be reached as well. If i can offer advice about this store, only talk to the older gents that work there.
