Worked here from 1994-2001. Not what it used to be. Customer service was tops back then. Not so much, now. Stood at the Mens register for close to 5 minutes with merchandise, ready to pay. Not a soul to be seen. I ended up going downstairs, and on my walk to the down escalator, never saw one employee on the second floor. Absolutely ridiculous. I ended up paying at the registers by the front entrance, where the young woman was professional, and more than happy to be of service. What saved this from being less than a 3-star review was her service, and that I think there is a lot of good merchandise. The problem is the customer service, or lack, thereof. Good merchandise is not worth it if theres no one there to be of any help, or at the very least, to sell it. Will also note that I was not the only person who brought their merchandise from the second floor to pay for it. So, kudos to the young woman for knowing what customer service is. Maybe she should help train.

Worst service ever. Not only are the workers more willing to gossip than to help me get out quicker but the place is nasty. Kinda hard to shop with flys and gnats everywhere not to mention there are just clothes everywhere. Do the workers stop and move the clothes back where they were? Pick them up off the ground? Nah, they just keep on walking like nothing matters. I think I would find more professionalism out of a college seniority house for teenage gossip. Also, the supervisor. What was her name? Susan I believe? Wasnt much more help than a pile of manure. Also customers, watch out! we have a Badass! Dress to impress because if not youll get more gossip than you can handle from Cheyenne I think her name was? Sorry guys, I couldnt stay in here longer than 5 minutes. Ill have to find somewhere to to buy my wifes birthday present. Thanks for the SUPER special time JCPenny.

I think most are familiar with this chain department store staple that commonly anchors a mall. There are three is the metro area and this one is right in the middle, based on size. The customer service is usually very good. The selection of merchandise is great and the prices offer a decent value, in my opinion. The only downside is that JCP recently had a change of power during a renovation that is now left hanging. IMO, the remodel should be finished... and soon. Update: Assistance I received looking for a particular item at the store recently was above and beyond. Excellent service. IMO, rating is 5 star based on customer service alone.

So I made an appointment for noon on a Sunday was called on Saturday evening and asked if I could change my appointment time because the girl would not be available at noon. I said sure, so I change my appointment time for 3:15 same day with a different lady. I was then called at 1:30 on Sunday and asked if I could come in now instead of 3:15. When I explained that I couldnt come right away that I had to arrange for a babysitter and I have already changed the time twice on my babysitter. She then said well let me ask if Jerrica will still be able to do your hair today. At that time I just asked them to please cancel my appointment.

Multiple customer service/checkout counters, each with 2-3 "employees", and a line of impatient customers. Only a SINGLE register operating at each, and the bored non customer focused attitude of the idle employees is a real turn off, especially with a line of customers waiting to be served. Go elsewhere for gift cards!

We scheduled an appointment at the portraits center at JC Penny in the J-Mall at 5:45 we were seen at 6:35. Worst experiences ever... never will go back... I would have rated it lower if I could!!!!!
