I have been coming to this Hy Vee for right at around 4 years from now. I love this Hy Vee. The staff is ALWAYS so friendly and nice. I have only had one negative experience at this store, but it is nothing that would make me to not want to come back. My family love fried rice and the gal back in the Chinese Kitchen always gives my 2 year old a fortune cookie and talks to him every time we come in to get friend rice. The other morning before I went to work, I needed to stop and get more coffee and supplies for the office. Every. Single. Employee. I passed on my way to the coffee isle, greeted me with a "Hello, Good Morning!" or a " How do you do?" That made my day and put me in such a better mood that I was too way saying Good morning to complete strangers because I wanted to share the joy. The food quality is great. The prices on some items can be a bit high, but that is with any store now a days. I will continue to be a loyal and faithful customer for as long as live in this town.

Wow, anne. Im sorry you had a bad experience. However, Hy-Vee and many retail grocery stores have limits on sale items. Thats actually a rather normal practice. Im certain the manager on duty did not discriminate against you because I would have been subject to the same sale limitations. All people, regardless of religion, ethnic background, race, sex or sexual preference are all limited equally by these limitations. That is not discrimination of any kind. To keep this post on track - this store is OK. I like that it is clean and bright and that you can navigate the isles with a shopping cart without having to run into any cardboard displays. This store also does not require a shoppers card to receive any of the sale items - although there may be limitations on how many items you can buy or a minimum purchase required in order to meet the requirements of the limitation - which is standard practice for retail grocers.

I went to this Hy-Vee location to purchase Coke, and the manager on duty, Chris Jones, discriminated agaisnt me and my family. I was with my elderly parents at the time. I was trying to purchase the coke that was on sale. The manager would not allow myself or my parents to purchase the coke at the sale price, claiming that it was only 1 per customer. I was trying to explain to him that this was discrimination being that it clearly advertised as a sale, but he refused to sell me the product at the sale price. When I was trying to explain to him this was discrimination and at this point he threatened to call the police on me and threated to have me in trouble for tresspassing.

I loved this place because whenever you need help finding something, there is always a worker there to help right away. Most of the stuff is easy to find and they have a great selection. Going from organic fruits and vegetables, to delicious ice cream. It is also cheap when it comes to your big brand names. They even have their own store brand which is also very cheap. That is why I love this Hy-Vee.

Excellent customer service in particular Kyle, the Chef. I like to observe customer service because i worked in that industry and it has made me keen to exceptional customer relationship management. He doesn t act like an employee but an owner. He doesnt just serve food, he understands that service is as important as the dish.

I went in to get flowers for a friend and Karen P in the floral department was amazing. She greeted me right away and asked if I needed help. She really helped me pick a beautiful bouquet and arranged it wonderfully. I really appreciate it! I wish I could include a photo!

Friendly helpful staff. A bit on the pricey side. My son wanted to buy a steak but it was late at night. They actually sent someone to go behind the meat counter and help my son select a t-bone! I dont think any of the other stores do this after hours. Very impressed!

Thursday night special was Kansas City strip steak for $8.99. Steak was cooked perfect. Chef personally delivered to the table and actually cut up our meat. After our meal he came back to see if we enjoyed it if everything was okay. Of course I felt it was delicious.

The young man working in the Deli Department was awesome. He very helpful even though I interrupted him as he was cleaning up. He was very polite and took time to help me find what I needed. He was very knowledgeable about the store. Great Job Deli Man!

I have shopped here for many years and always have a great experience. It is clean, well organized and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The prices are competitive if not better than other places I have checked.

Its cleaner than the average store, but you pay a slight premium for that. Best natural food selection in Lawrence outside of The Merc. If price matters to you, neither store will fill all your needs. We want Trader Joes!

Hyvee is a great grocery store. Possibly the best one in Lawrence, the employees are the best and all really nice, they seem genuinely happy to work there. Also probably the cleanest grocery store in town.

Bought some cigars while shopping for groceries. They where dry and tasted horrible, I know they are not a cigar shop but. If they are going to sell them they should properly store them.

Usually well stocked, and clean. Associates are friendly and helpful. I never have problems here that they wont fix between certain hours, unlike their competitor down the street.

This is my go to grocery in town. Good selection and process and I love the free fruit for kids while you shop. Do your pharmacy shopping here and also get cheap gas!
