I have been a customer of By Design for many years. Room by room they have worked with my husband and I to design pleasing, comfortable, affordable, great looking spaces.. They have wonderful service. I love to go in the store and walk all around it slowly and see what I like and then meet with a designer. The store always looks amazing and is set up as rooms so it is easy to picture the end result. There are many, many fabrics to choose from and they assist me in narrowing them down to my favorites. I have difficulty making a decision and they work with me with great patience and guide me along the process. Another great thing about purchasing at By Design, is that the room has a finished look. They will help you make the entire room look great including pictures and accessories. Before I used By Design, I would have a piece I liked but the room never had the look I wanted. I have received many compliments from my friends when they visit my home. My most recent purchase was a twin sofa sleeper. I am looking forward to its arrival in a few weeks! I would recommend this store to my friends and family as it is locally owned and they truly care about customer satisfaction.

With just a month to fully decorate a new home and the stress of an out of state move, we chose Laura Beeler at By Design to be our quarterback. I promised my wife that with this house we would seek professional help, rather than trying to do all the work ourselves. We came to By Design after searching for a local Des Moines store that fit our transitional to modern style. We relied on Laura to quickly pull together all aspects of the interior design and layout to make our new home comfy, stylish, and functional for a growing family. Laura worked really hard under a very short timeframe to coordinate floor coverings, furniture (some of which we custom ordered), window coverings, and the overall design aesthetic. We are off to a great start to establish a warm and inviting home for our move and our new adventure! Overall a positive experience with an experienced designer. My good friend, Sherri, is a designer at by Design and encouraged me to browse their American Leather furniture line in my hunt for a new sectional for our great room. I was wanting something contemporary, comfortable, and durable and found the perfect style on the American Leather website. Sherri then had me come in and we poured over the fabric choices until we found the perfect one. I then decided Id better get a new area rug and Sherri to the rescue! When Sherri texted me the exciting news that my sectional, love seat and rug had arrived in their store, she included a photo of a coffee table that she thought would a good companion and when I showed my husband, he said, "oh, thats cool - go and look at it". I did and I loved it (and, of course, the matching side table). Thanks to by Designs fabulous product selection and Sherris good eye, we now have a room that is not only functions well for our family but it also incredibly beautiful. The staff at By Design are very friendly and accommodating! Elissa is our Interior Designer and we highly recommend her to help with your design needs. Laura has worked tirelessly to find just the right pieces, and upholstery coverings to fit the space and overall look . The custom upholstery and drapery construction is amazing.
