I have a 74 Beetle that had been in storage for 9 years. I bought a new long block and brought it to another garage to have it installed and the car gone through to get it road worthy. After several months , taking it to 2 different garages and spending almost $2000 the engine ran hot all the time and the front end shimmied. I had it took it to NORTH CHICAGO IMPORTS, talked to Chris and a couple days later was told the car was done. I couldnt believe it. The thing ran like new. If anyone has a classic beetle, this is the shop to take it to. They have a genius VW mechanic (think his name is Mico) who undoubtedly knows more about classic VWs than anyone else around here. Ive had other work done here and have always been completely satisfied. They do great work at very reasonable prices.

Chris (the owner) is fair and honest, and will sometimes even talk you out of a repair if doesnt need maintenance yet. The mechanical work is very good, done in a timely manner and prices are very reasonable. Theyve worked on our fleet of vehicles, including a BMW, Subaru, Ford Explorer, Toyota 4 Runner, and a vintage 73 Triumph TR6 (British roadster). We always refer friends to Chris and North Chicago Auto Imports.

Great service; friendly and honest. Does what needs to be done. Doesnt pad the bill with things you didnt think you needed. Have been a customer for over I0 years and have never once thought I was getting ripped off. Work gets done correctly every time. Can provide loaner if you call ahead. Its not a sparkling premises but youre getting your car fixed not getting your hair done.

I have been taking my vehicles to Chris/NC Imports for over 20 years. For 99 percent of the fixes, he should be the only option for your servicing needs.It really is nice to know that your vehicle will get fixed what needs fixing and nothing more. He will keep your car running and wont over-fix for the sake of over-fixing. Dont waste your time or money going anywhere else.

They do good work at good prices, very trustworthy. I work down the street and Chris the owner will give me a lift to and from work on the day hes working on the mini-van, so that I dont have to call friends/family to get a ride. Always great to do business with them, been going to them for years.

Very knowledgeable on all types of cars - not just imports. Friendly, honest, quick service. Best of all, very affordable. They will help you determine which repairs are needed soonest if you cant do all of it now. Wi-Fi in their waiting area. Loaner available if you call ahead.

I would personally never take y car anywhere else. We used to take our cars to the local dealers mechanics only so we could go back to be overcharged and given faulty diagnosis. Chris and his team are very trustworthy and customer oriented!
