Yesterday I took my mother shopping only to realize that she had left her purse at home. She had several items in her cart and was very frustrated by her ever increasing lapses in memory. My Mom was always a very sharp woman. We approached the checkout line and I asked the cashier if they could put the items back. A very nice lady in front of us stepped up and insisted on paying. We declined her offer but she insisted. What an absolutely wonder and kind person she was. After thanking her profusely we discovered she worked at this store. As a fellow book lover I just want to say that she is the epitome of a warm and caring person. This store is very fortunate to employ someone so kind and thoughtful. I believe her name is Sarah. One of my favorite places. The selection is always good especially among books both old and new and the prices are competitive with other stores in the area and even online. The store is well-organized and most of the aisles are wide. Theres also seating so you can evaluate your selections. They dont offer as much as they used to for traded-in books and DVDs, but they do have a lot of good sales, especially around holidays, and theres coupons in their annual calendar (so pick up a calendar even if you dont need one). I have a Kindle and I still go there.

Had no idea that this place existed until recently. It reminds me of a Disc-Replay-style store (sell them your books, multimedia, board games, etc). Although you have to stay in the store while they examine and decide which of your items to purchase, the wait time isnt that long. They are also incredibly fair when it comes to buying books from you, which is reassuring. Perhaps the best part about the stores "buying" policy is that they offer to donate anything that they dont buy from you.

While I dont some of the books here reflect the "half-price" in the store name, they do have a good selection. Everyone who works here is very nice. Id take my used books here every time I had to clean out my collection; I never expected to get a lot of money for them, but its easier for me to do than try to sell used copies online. Plus, I can use the cash receipt towards buying a new book.

If youre trading in books for cash, go to 2nd and Charles first. Half price books gives you at MOST 10% value for trade ins. 2nd and Charles gives you 20% on average. Reasonable pricing, huge selection, but sometimes youll see 4 different prices on the same exact book.

Phenomenal bookstore. The staff is fun and friendly, plus they are all kinds of helpful. The selection is great and the prices are unbeatable. Somehow this chain store maintains the look and feel of an independent book store. Oh, and the vinyl selection is great!

Very clean and well lit store. Selection was fairly good and prices were decent. Used items were a great deal. Stacks are high and not many places to sit. I found some great deals on comic books. Nice manga section. Check it out when you have time!

Friendly staff. Pretty good selection of music, books, games, and movies. If a book youre looking for is not there they can ship it from one of their other stores assuming they have it.

Great store to buy and sell books easily. You might not always get the best rate, but they have to make money. Youre paying for how easy and quick it is compared to online purchasing.
