Normally love Menards, but the customer service at this location is lacking. Needed a product exchange, but didnt have entire receipt for online order (only brought the part that the email stated to bring for the online order pickup). Since I didnt have the entire receipt or my wifes credit card, they offered me store credit towards the product that I needed - BUT they lowered my refund amount from todays sale price to the lowest price in the store history. Seriously, Menards? Couldnt honor todays purchase price for an exchange? I didnt have time to mess around with going back & forth for receipts & with products, so cut my losses for convenience. Online ordering flop. This isnt the first online order flop either... We once ordered dog food online & had the convenience of having it picked off the shelf for pickup. When we went to pick it up (while in a bit of a time crunch which was why we paid EXTRA for item pickup), but were told that we had to go wayyyyyy back around through the outdoor security gate to get the dog food bag. When we got there, there was NOBODY around to get us our order or help us. & of course we got stuck behind someone having issues with security in font of us. Seriously?! I could have grabbed a bag from the shelf quicker. Well stick to the Old Fashioned shopping at Menards from now on.

Poorly run location. Limited selection. Garden center employees come across careless and unmotivated. No one offered assistance while I struggled to load bags of soil and sand onto the flat bed cart. Instead, two employee women chatted away with each other and watched me as my cart started to roll away while I loaded the bags. I was standing literally 5ft from them. At check out I wasnt greeted or even offered assistance in loading my car. The cashier just started scanning and typing away as if I wasnt there. She took her time ringing me up though because she was busy talking to another employee about when she could "get out here". Im assuming she was talking about her break? When it was time to pay I handed over my cc. She just pointed to her right and said, "card machine down there hun." But hey, at least by then I knew I was visible. Never going back there. Id like to return what I bought but its just a waste of my time. My advice...Go across the street to home depot where the hot dog guy out front talks to you more than the Menards employees do.

This is the worst Menards I have ever dealt with! I am furious! Not 1 mistake but 3! When they were offering the 11% rebate, our reciept did not print it up, told to come back, we did, manager argued nothing he could do, 15 mins. later goes to the room behind service desk and hands me my reciept!, placed a big order for delivery, asked if we could add more, refused! Today, we had carpenters waiting for another delivery, they did not have the material that was ordered 2 weeks ago, told they did not have it in stock nothing they could do, manager from Gurnee was called by us, they had material, and it is being delivered! We have spent a lot of money there but we will now shop in Gurnee! Also the store manager Tim, is very rude and not helpful at all!

They had an ice auger and ice shelter advertised in their flyer at the store and it did special order only. I went to order it and it was $100 more than it was supposed to be. I showed them THEIR flyer with the pricing and the customer service wouldnt fix it, the hardware manager wouldnt fix it, and the general manager wouldnt fix it. Im not 100% about the law on false advertising but Im going to have to contact the BBB for the legalities of the situation and go from there. Sorry guys, but ethics is one of the values that puts one business over another. Extremely unfortunate that I have to write this review. Noel, Stephanie, and Ryan are decent employees there so Id hate this to effect them.

The kid who worked in the floor covering/tile Keith I believe it was was extremely rude and not helpful. He asked me well where in the depot meant do I think his tile might be and He laughs in my face when I ask to talk his boss he said he was the department manager when I ask to talk to the store manager. He then asked me is an effing joke!! I did finally get to talk to the assistant manager Jeff I hope that the problem with this kids attitude is adjusted looks like Ill be shopping at other home improvement stores you have lost a coustomer for life!!

Usually have had an alright experience with menards. Until you try to special order. Many times its taken over an hour in the lumber yard. Recently Ive had a problem with some special order steel siding. 12 pieces was all that I needed 4 tries later (8 weeks) and all I ended up with was damaged siding. I tried letting customer care know and thats what turned me into a Home Depot shopper. Total disrespect and zero help. Brian the store manager was no help either and would rarely call back. Im disappointed and let down.

Worst Menards would have gone to Crystal Lake but didnt have my item in stock! Wanted to by a space heater for ice fishing and all they jad was floor model. No box no paperwork nothing left in store. Ask employee and manager what they could do on price. NOTHING! I can find cheaper brand new in box and they wouldnt drop the price. F em!!! Only reason to come here again is because CL doeant have the hunting selection. Id rather overpay at Cabelas!

Very crappy careless managers and they dont care about the customer. We will take our business elsewhere!! They screwed up too many orders and their building materials manager Ed is the worst!! Fox Lake will never have our business again! This is the worst run store in all of Illinois!! Dont waste your time here! Go to CL or Woodstock instead.

Lumber group agreed to a price then when I went to pick it up they had sold it out from under me. This was for siding on a new house. They just lost all my future business on this house. Jimmys word and handshake isnt worth anything. I even offered to put down a deposit and he said trust me. Thanks for looking a customer.

If you are looking for a place with no service.. Well this is the place for you. Employees on the flloor will never say hello. In fact its like you do not exist! At this piont I dont even blame the managers. I blame the people at their corperate office for allowing this!

This is the best Menards in the area (other than Woodstock) the employees are like any other warehouse, you might get someone who knows what they are talking about, and you might not. Most employees are helpful and knowledgeable.....and some you avoid when you see them!

The people who work there are very nice and helpful. The store itself has a large selection of food and animal foods and extra stuff for animals. Theyre like a little covenant store with food and clothing and toys. Its a one stop shopping place.

Horrible service every time I have gone there and asked for help it is like I am bothering the person in that department. Trying to find someone to help takes forever and when you do it is like an inconvenience to them.
