From the minute we walked in Beth was extremely rude. We actually contemplated leaving right then. Instead, we gave her a chance. She continued to be extremely short, snappy, and rude throughout the entire process. She snapped at me for trying to take a few pictures of my sister in law while she was getting her tattoo. I was so shocked to learn that this was her shop! At the end, I told her very nicely and simply that we would not be recommending this shop to anyone else and that her bad attitude took away from the fun experience of getting a tattoo. She yelled that she didnt need to be berated which seemed over the top considering how simply and honestly I approached the situation and then told us to get the f*** out. Unbelievably rude. Wow. She has a bad attitude and its not worth ruining this fun experience by going here. I DO NOT recommend her business, she doesnt value her customers at all. We do not allow friends or family to enter the work area in order to take pictures. We asked that you remain on the other side of the counter and keep the photos to a minimum so not to distract us while we work. Your sister in law got a great tattoo at a reasonable price and seemed pleased with the tattoo. It was YOU who felt slighted for not being able to take pictures behind the counter. The worst part of the whole thing that it was a small tattoo that took no more than 15 minutes to do, the bandage was on, your sister in law was happy with it and YOU decided to turn it into a fiasco not only for us but the other clients that were getting tattooed. Regardless of how special the moment or tattoo, big or small, we cannot and will not bend the rules. You were anything but "nice" about letting us know about how much "fun" YOU didnt have, you refused to let it go and made a scene in the middle of the shop. We had to ask you to leave SEVERAL times before it escalated to harsh language. At one point we thought we may have to call the police to have you forcibly removed. We have on Yelp, close to 50 5 star reviews (42 filtered) from happy customers. We have a huge clientele of return customers who know how to behave in public and act like adults. We welcome them back anytime. We are not sorry to have lost your business. Temper tantrums are not allowed or tolerated at Maximum Tattoo. I understand the policy, and I was okay with that. I understand. I was upset and shocked at how rude she was throughout the entire process. My sister in law was also very shocked and upset. Im not going to get into a debate about it - the universe knows. I understand you wanting to protect your reputation, but youve embellished your story - the universe knows that too, even if others dont. Beth is the red head in the picture for those of you looking to avoid her or this shop in general. This woman does not deserve your business, nor is she thankful for it. For a small business, gratitude and kindness to your customers is what helps you grow.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Ok so. First of all. I went to this place to have a walk in on a saturday. I figured i would have to make an appointment even though i tried to have luck with a walk in appointment. They were busy, so i asked the girl who was working the front desk to make me an appointment for sunday. She said i didnt need to make an appointment because she said they were never busy on sunday so i could just walk in. I even asked her if she was sure i shouldnt make an appointment and she said she was sure. The next day comes and i walk in like she said. Beth, one of the main artists/owners was working on someone and told me and my boyfriend, who i brought with me, to come back in an hour. So, an hour passes and we go back. Beth was working on someone else. We asked her if it would be another hour and even explained to her that the other girl yesterday told us NOT to make an appointment. Beth IMMEDIATELY started giving us attitude. Then she went as far as swearing at us, dropping the f- bomb and everything. Completely and utterly rude. As we started to walk out, she said that i didnt deserve her service. The most horrible customer service experience i have ever had in my life. Not to mention they are overly priced. HORRIBLE! DISORGANIZED PLACE. They obviously do not give a care about their customers, which makes me question how sanitary their equipment is and how much effort they put in their tattooing. I would give zero stars if i could.

I am asked daily where do I get my tattoos! When I tell people I commute from Chicago to Deerfield, they always ask with all the tattoo shops in Chicago why do you go out there? Heres my answer, my tattoo artist opened their own shop out there, Ive been getting tattooed by Beth and Phil for at least 6 years, and good quality is worth traveling for. Let me say that my 6 year old sun exposed tattoos are still a daily topic and people can not believe how great they still look! I just finished a large thigh piece by Beth, its breath taking! I was vague with what I wanted when setting up an appointment with her. I told her I wanted 3 flowers in a certain order and the option to add to it in the future. I am now walking around with bright vibrant work of art on my leg. It never stops suprising me that so many older ladies stop me, gasp and say I am not a fan of tattoos but that is absolutely gorgeous! To me thats a successful tattoo, making a person who doesnt think tattoos are beautiful see the beauty! I love the shop as well, awesome decor, and the other artist are friendly. When you go to this shop you are dealing with real tattooing vets. They are no bullsh*t, honest, hardworking people and those are the kinda people I like to give my business too! Thats why I travel 45 minutes to an hour to get a tattoo...

I had an existing tattoo on my left arm of a lotus with tribal-style vines and leaves, and I wanted to turn it into a quarter-sleeve. Beth explained that the design would not lend itself well to a sleeve; however, she did offer ideas on how the tattoo could be elaborated and how some of the blank space could be filled in without cluttering the design. I took Beths advice, and am thrilled with the result. I was so pleased that I had her work on the rest of the tattoo, which runs down my back & onto my side. Beth managed to make the entire piece flow together beautifully. Before, I had felt that the three sections (arm, back, side) were almost separate. She added elegant shading and swirls that pulled the piece together. She also added shading to the lotus flowers, which made them pop and firmly established them as the focal point of the tattoo. In total, I spent almost six hours in the chair, and it was actually pretty fun, aside from getting poked by a needle the entire time. The shop is fantastically decorated and very clean. All the artists were friendly, greeted people as they came in the door, and were helpful answering questions and offering advice. Im planning to get another tattoo on my right side, and I will definitely be going to Beth. Her work is phenomenal, and shes a very cool person. :-)
