Buyer beware: DO NOT BUY A SCOOTER FROM THIS STORE. Remember: when you buy cheap, you get cheap. This store sells scooters manufactured in China, and everything youve ever heard about Chinese scooters is true. This is my Second City horror story: I came in a year and a half ago and fell in love with the price and style of the Lance Cali Classic. Ive always wanted a scooter and at $2,100 it seemed like a great deal. Two weeks into owning the scooter it broke down. I was in and out of the shop all summer getting it fixed. They gave me a loaner, it broke down too. They finally replaced the bike with a brand new one, and guess what, that broke down. And who was to blame? Certainly not the rickety scooter with its cheap parts (at one point the handle bars almost came off), its over rumbly engine (which they didnt know how to fix), or its uncanny ability to lose power while going 40mph on a busy street (these scooters are unsafe, and very dangerous). Heres the problem with buying a cheap bike from Second City Scooters. First of all, when it breaks down, you have to take it to them to get it fixed. Because NO ONE else in town is willing to service these bikes. So what will you do when the parts and service are no longer under warranty? Youll be spending a ton of money in their shop to keep your problematic bike running. Please, please, please heed my warning and dont make the same mistake I did. Ive already run into three other people who bought their bikes at Second City Scooters and had the same experience I did. Why nobody has spoken up on YELP is beyond me. Had someone written a review like the one Im writing now, it would have saved me a year and a half of headaches. Spend the extra money on a good bike. One that doesnt have to be serviced every 300 miles. One that doesnt lose engine power mid-ride. One that wont leave you stranded on the side of the road. Dont be fooled by these Second City Scammers.

Okay, so I usually stay away from fancy automotive shops or steer ships and do most of my car and motorcycle work myself but there are some times you need to take your motorcycle to an experienced tech. This is where these people chile in. They have an amazing storefront with several collection of Taiwanese scooters and motorcycles. Store is very clean and well mentained. The owner or manager is very nice guy. He always helps me out with my issues regarding my Sym motorcycle. I once broke a clutch cable and they were the only dealers to have it for 25 dollars while others were asking 60-100 dollars!!! In short they are honest and reliable! I sold my Taiwanese motorcycle but I bet i will be coming back for other stuff.

This is the best place in Chicago to get a scooter period. I just picked up a Cali Classic 125 and it is awesome! Service was great and everyone there knew their stuff without trying to do the heavy up sale you get at most motorcycle shops. Best of all their prices are perfect. Getting a scooter for internet prices from a full service shop is great. Since they are a licensed dealer you dont have to do all the DMV stuff yourself. This part alone makes it well worth it. The only downside is I wish I had gotten all my upgrades at time of purchase instead of waiting and that wasnt their fault. When it is time for an upgrade I am going back here first.

Vince answered and not only did he know what I was talking about(I called dozens of places all over the country previous to this call), he spent a good deal of time on the telephone going over the points of importance. These guys are very knowledgeable and helpful. Ive been here several times and they always have what I need. They have OEM and aftermarket parts so they wont send you away when you ask for upgrades, like other places do. They also have used scooter parts and very reasonable prices. This is the only scooter place I go to now.
