Forget your generic brand grocers whos presence in the neighborhood seem to shadow the land with their processed super market meat. Go to a butcher who specialize in tender love and care. Every piece of meat is oozing with love and tenderness. Ok its getting too sappy but really, I will say it is tender. The service wasnt legendary like I have read about but they were pretty friendly. The meat is quality cuts (although I did not spy anything dry aged) and their sausages are quite the bees knees. The good: specialized field of good quality meat. We need more butchers these days. The not so good: You may pay a dollar or two more but its worth it in my book.

You will pay significantly more here than at Jewel or the big box stores, but then you will understand "you get what you pay for." Excellent service, quality and advice on how to cook whatever you purchased. And theyre local! You can call ahead to reserve what you need for holidays and special occasions. I have had their pork loins, New York Strip steaks and their crown roasts. All were light years better than the chains.

I love going to Holzkopf. The prices are fairly competitive, especially when you think about the quality. The shop can tell you where the meat youre about to buy came from. They have a nice selection of beef, pork, chicken, and sausages. I happily spend my money here and encourage everyone else to do so as well. There is a small deli counter as well.

I am treated as both a friend and a valued customer. Mark and Matt do a great job remembering my preferences. Going to Holzkopfs Meat Market is always a pleasure.

I come from a long line of family butchers and my family used to own a shop. The staff is great and the meat is the best. Everything is always fresh and looks and tastes great always. I love that its in the neighborhood and in walking distance from our house. The lamb patties are great on the grill!

I have shopped at Holzkopfs since it was Bornhoffens.The butchers know their product and enjoy getting to know their customers. They have the best cuts of meat and at the best prices in the area. If you are looking for quality beef, pork, lamb, turkey and chicken, this is the place.

Though Ive started to try and cut back on eating meat, when I do, I try to eat the best, and thats what I get here. You get the cuts you usually cant get at the chains, great service, and cheaper prices than places like Whole Foods. Plus, youre supporting a local business!
