I love this grocery store! The products are mostly their brand, however they are as good as national name brands (except the coffee). The produce is really good and low priced! Things to know about shopping ALDI: You need a quarter to unlock the buggy. You get the quarter back when you return it to the buggy area. You can purchase bags or bring your own. They are located under the conveyer belt at checkout. Old fashion paper is 6 cents. Plastic is 10 cents (larger than Walmart bags). They only accept cash and Debit cards. No credit. No check. No SNAP. The employees are super friendly. They carry staples and seasonal groceries. I was buying Kroger brand and Great value with a little national brands mixed in. We now buy our food at ALDI and are saving $20-$40/week for a family of 4. So glad its here in Rome!

Checkout lady was nice, but you have to pay to use a shopping cart, and you do not get your things bagged. This would not be so bad if it had been mentioned in the ad so you could bring your own bag. Except for a couple of specials, I do not see any big savings in the stuff I usually buy and the choices are very limited. A better deal to me is the Sav-A-Lot. Also, as a person with a walking handicap, there is no apparent electric cart, only a wheelchair that would be difficult to use if you also have upper extremity problems and have no one to push you. Overall a big disappointment after all the build-up. Probably will not go back. Also, if i have to pay for it, i will not use a cart. i will just not buy more than i can carry in my old arthritis arms.

My husband and I are seniors and on a budget. We had been big Wal Mart shoppers. Mostly because of prices. We shopped Aldis and bought things we normally use. We then went to Wal Mart and compared prices. We were shocked at what the price difference was. On items we regularly use we saved a dollar to 50 cents per item. There produce is excellent. So we shop Aldis first and then go to Wal Mart. Take the time to shop and compare you will be amazed. The reason they charge you for a cart is they want you to return it. To many people leave their cart in the parking lot and they run into cars. This eliminates the problem. We love Aldis. It is worth packing our own groceries for the savings.

I love their German variety of items and price point. However the lack of consistency in items, long lines, and lack of choices for certain items made me give them a 3. Sometimes you will find great foods but they are gone and may never return again, each week.

Buggy full of groceries for under $100!! (Not two bags like Wal-Mart) Vegetables, fruits, and meats! They have the best selection around and their fruits and vegetables are always fresh and keep much longer than big box stores.

Aldi is fantastic! Remember to take your own bags and a quarter for a buggy! The prices and quality there just cant be beat. I have to drive pretty far so I go once every two weeks and stock up!
