Brought in 6 very large, very heavy coffee table art books, the kind that if you were to buy new in an art museum or book store, would set you back at least $50-$250 a piece. I was offered less than $5 for all six books. They were all in like-new condition too, nothing wrong with them. My father had similar experience, brought in books, and was offered pennies-on-the-dollar prices. OK so the place isnt there to buy books, so lets look around, its nice to have a place to buy books and media, but prices were a bit high, I get it, you have overhead, and in east cobb, Im sure rent is high. But down the street at gamestop I saw the same funko dolls priced for less. Also down the street at goodwill, they sell all hard cover books for $1.51 and soft cover for $0.77 regardless of title. The same kids books that they wanted $3.99 and $4.99 respectively cost me $0.77 each at the goodwill the other day. Return policy is good, but what kind of ticked me off was the way I was spoken too by the "manager" when I returned a video game. My system said "unable to read disc"... and that was why I was returning, they let me return but the manager said something like well theres nothing wrong with the game... as if I was making it up??? You go buy something take it home, plug it in and get that "unable to read disc" message and tinker with it and try to get it to work and then return it, and listen to the employee tell you that there actually wasnt something wrong with it, nah, its actually not that scratched up... it doesnt "look" that bad... Heres my 1 star

Nice store that looks good. It is easy to find what you are looking for. If you are bringing books (or other items to trade) they give you very little compared to other used book stores I have been to. When you look through their selection of books, the prices arent that much of a discount versus new books. You get better deals if you shop online and dont mind waiting a few days to have the books delivered. Those looking for comics, Manga, LPs, collectibles, etc., may find items of interest worth their time and money. The staff isnt that friendly and seem more interested in talking to each other than focusing on customer service.

Love the store love the idea but dont particularly care for the model that they have in buying books. It really depends on who you get well depends on your offer I brought in like 4 books and maybe one CD and got $6 can I bring in about 20 comic books which they were going to give me $10 for and $5 for my other books and CDs so a total of $15 at that point I felt like something fishy was going on so I took back the comic books left the store and came back an hour later with the same comic books and then it was priced at $6 all while I seen them paid $30 for someone who came in with just a couple of books.

I come in here to loiter a lot, helps pass the time between now and the grave. What is lost on some people is the book selling function of the store. No company on this general area is going to give you actual cash for your books like HPB does. The other used book stores will give you "credit" which you can only use in their store, on half of the book price. If you are looking to get a couple of ducats and free up some room in your home, sell at HPB. Dont expect to pay your bills for the week with what you get, though.

I love this book store. I used to visit one in Chicago all the time. When I moved down to Atlanta I was sad there wasnt one close by, but recently last year they opened one up in Marietta!! They carry great books for a reasonable price. I love Barnes and Noble, but their prices are very high for new books. The books at Half Price are gently used, so they appear brand new.

Cashier nor manager could explain how they determined the $30 they offered to me for 127 books and more than 75 were in good and like new condition. Their explanations made me feel as if I was being taken advantage of. Didnt take offer.

Great! Awesome selection of graphic novels and games. The only thing I dont like about any Half Price Books is how hard it is to find specific items. Everything seems to be "almost" organized. But a great place to browse.

The exchange rate is not great.... I brought in some pretty expensive books... Like 10 of them and only got $5. Ya not exactly thrilled however, they have almost any book you could think of to buy.

Do not ever sell your books there! They waste your time and rip you off significantly. They paid the price for one anywhere else would pay but for cases of books I brought in. Biggest scam ever.

Great selection and big. Good prices on most books, but some you can get for the same price at TJ Maxx. Toys are a bit overpriced.
