If I could go into the negatives to rank, that would be awesome. First, this school is horrible. Second, the staff seem to lack within their jobs. Third, I have barely learned anything. I orginally attened a tech school in Northeast Georgia, I learned a lot from them and they actually helped me find a job down this way. I was laid off from that job so I decided to come back to school. I never had any problems at the start, everything went awesome. Well, my first semester was horrible. Our teacher loaded us down with homework (every other day, two sections a day) and tests (once a week at 50+ questions). This being said, it was literally impossible for me to work and go to school. I understand college is more difficult and takes more dedications, but this was insane. Anyways, I passed all those classes. My fall semester rolls around and I have her only one more time. So, we had a group project due at the end of the semester along with a resume due. She gave us information on who to contact to meet about getting our resume reviewed (she would give us a card if she reviewed it, thats how we got our grade). The lady in the office would never call me back! To this day, I am still waiting on a phone call. I walked to her office and she seemed to always be gone. For a month straight, she recieved calls from me, along with my partner in the class who never got a call back. I looked for outside help, I found a professor at KSU who my fiance set me up with to review my resume. My teacher wouldnt take it! He signed off on it and was tempted to email her, but I told him it was a waste of time. So for that, I got a zero. Thanks to the lady in the office who never returned my call by the way, you helped a lot with that zero. Next was the project, I didnt have any problems with it, but other students did. Going through college, students will drop out left and right. Well, some of my friends lost their partners because they dropped out and ended up not having one anymore. Each student who didnt have a partner was knocked off points because of that. Something they couldnt even help, she knocked off points! She is by far, the worst teacher I have EVER had. She NEVER helps in the labs and can barely explain how to do specific things on the homework. Also, this is Electrical/Computer Engineer Tech. I really hope she reads this and it shows how horrible she is doing. Every single student I have met who went through her, hated it. I never met one student who said something positive about her. Now, Carl on the other hand is a great teacher. He helps you every step of the way and actually helps you understand problems. In the end, I dont know whats more sad, that I learned everything I know from this school from my student teacher or the fact I got a job in the IT field just from personal use. Keep in mind everyone who is going for computers. If you come here and expect your credits to transfer anywhere for the couple of classes you take with computers, you are wrong. None of them will transfer, only the ones from the Electrical class will. Im just beyond happy I am out of the womans class and actually learning something, I was getting tired of having to teach myself. One more thing, dont try to contact the staff, they are just for a paycheck, not to help you. I have yet had any help from them, only at the start when they wanted my money. Still waiting on that phone call.------ Also to the gentleman named Grant, please do not call someone out on their issues with the school. Not too sure if you were talking about my comment, but the fact is I called a year ago and have YET received a call back. I understand schools are busy, but I have been to one prior and if they couldnt answer, they ALWAYS called me back within a week. People read reviews for a reasons. Personally, I would rather see the flaws instead of positive feedback. Flaws is what makes a school, this school has too many flaws. You just got lucky with your teachers, because it seems like twenty other people did not. Also, I am still waiting on that phone call back.

The administration is nice but thats how they lure you in. Too many of the instructors are horrible or maybe they have unrealistic goals set by department heads. Out of 6 classes, my best one was online MATH 1101. There is so much pressure for them to stick with the curriculum that they cannot slow down to make sure students understand the material. If you want to learn, dont come to this school. I asked 1 of my instructors to explain some test questions and she couldnt explain the answers so she just said, "Your answer was wrong and the other one is right" in her hard heavy accent. No exaggeration. The class went from about 25 to less than 10 by midterm. The school got their money so they dont care if you have to take it again. In Chemistry and Biology, the labs were so ahead of the class it was like 2 separate courses. Students voiced concerns were dismissed! Sad thing is they know it and do nothing about it. Students heard about an instructor that was good so of course they want to sign up for his class next term. But CTC changed all the instructors to Staff so you dont know who your getting next term. Emails asking for which instructors are teaching which classes have been ignored. The system they use called Angel (some schools use Blackboard) is a joke. Most of the time it doesnt work. You are supposed to use it to email, do certain assignments, etc. You would think that when they discovered the characters needed to answer chemistry problems was a problem, they would fix it or use another method like PAPER to turn in homework assignments. NOPE! So when you are working your butt off, you dont know if your answer was wrong or the system is just messed up. It took a month for this TECH school to fix it but they cant fix the fact that you may get an email in Angel but you cant Reply. Again they insist on using this system. One of my classmates would get an error when trying to email the instructor so she would email me and I would forward it. Next thing I know, I had the same problem. The WORST thing about this school is after I turned down KSU to save money and go here, I find out thru the grapevine that they lost their accreditation for the nursing program! I even met with the advisor before I made that final decision. She said nothing about the accreditation but still promoted the info sessions and program deadlines!

Its the truth when people say that the college doesnt answer the phone. I cant ever get a hold of anyone when I have a question or the website is down. The school gave me a student email but randomly changed my user name on me so I cant log in. I had to go and figure out it out myself. The staff up front is helpful, but each person seems to give me different advice about the same topic. Some say you do something one way and if you move down to the next person in the office they will contradict the person you just spoke to! I got my associates degree in automotive and it was rough. My teacher was very hard headed and required us to turn in notebooks, kicked people out of class if they made one mistake (cell phone not on silent) or they were literally ONE SECOND late. I managed though, and by doing the auto program, I was able to steer clear of the core classes building. It is also true about the accents of the teachers. Honestly I feel bad about it because Chatt. Tech. Has hired some teachers who greatly know their subject, but some dont know how to teach, and students cant learn from others because of the thickness and heaviness of the accents some teachers have. As if College Algebra didnt already seem like rocket science to me since I have been out of school for years now, I have to figure out what my teacher is saying before I can even piece together how to do the problem on the board! Its frustrating. Luckily if youre not a quitter you can make it through this school to save money. Ive managed honor roll grades since Ive been here but Im telling you now I have smoke coming out of my ears. Ive been in this school almost 3 years and am still in to get another associates degree in another field. When it was North Metro Tech. It seemed to be a much better school. All the students of the school hung in limbo when the merge took place and screwed everything up. Things havent been right since.
