My first tattoo was done at Kingdom Tattoo by Kurt Fagerland earlier this year. He was extremely easy and enjoyable to work with. After looking through his online portfolio and finding a piece with elements similar to what I was looking for, I emailed him with a basic description and desired placement (also warning him this was my first tattoo). He responded quickly saying it sounded right up his alley and that I should stop by to chat about it. I came into the shop which is pretty easy to find and had good parking. I was nervous going to an appointment alone but everyone made me feel comfortable and excited. After a quick chat about details I booked an appointment for a month later but Kurt told me they could likely fit me in that Saturday if I called ahead of time, which they did! The tattoo I had used as a reference from his portfolio was mainly free handed so he told me hed prefer to do the same for me and I agreed. The day of I arrived with 3 photos of the mountains I wanted him to put in a range and he added some tree, river, and waterfall detailing. I know many people want to see a stencil of their tattoo beforehand but Kurt made me feel so comfortable in his abilities and I really trusted him as an artist. Im glad I did because thanks to him the tattoo I had been dreaming about for 5 years turned out even better than I imagined. For a first tattoo, something ~3x4" on your ribs with the majority being shading I anticipated a good deal of pain, and while it did hurt I only needed one break which I think speaks to Kurts skill. He also finished the entire piece in about an hour and listened to me babble on as a distraction. I couldnt believe the quality of work for the price. It was affordable and a true work of art. I could not be happier with my ink (: I HIGHLY recommend Kingdom Tattoo

I had a piece done by Kurt Fagerland about 6 years ago, and decided to have it refreshed and reworked. Kurt was very receptive to my ideas and what I wanted from the finished piece, and delivered flawlessly. Not only is my tattoo absolutely gorgeous; the whole experience was fantastic. Kurt and I had a great conversation that kept my mind off how much getting my foot tattooed hurt, and he stayed well past the shops closing time to make sure it was exactly how I wanted. Since he finished up in the late evening, he offered to give me a ride to the nearest MARTA station so that I wouldnt have to walk through town in the dark. Although my ride home did show up, I really appreciated this, as it shows genuine concern for clients. The shop itself is spotless, and the other artists and receptionist I spoke to were very friendly. Overall, I cant recommend this shop enough.

Got some work done by Kurt a couple years ago, and Im going back next week to add on more. Great experience. Kurts work speaks for itself, so Im afraid anything I could say would pale in comparison to a quick visit to his site, but Kingdom as a whole is just a really chill atmosphere with excellent artists. Kurt in particular is really patient in putting art together and walking those without a lot of experience getting tattoos through the whole process. Did more work than he actually charged me for too which is always a really nice bonus!

I was a walk-in and was treated right away. I shared my idea for a design and it was made beautifully and then we got to work. When I was about 95% done with the tattoo, my glucose levels plummeted and they stopped, got me water and sugar, and waited patiently and kindly until I felt 100% again. The clients health and safety is their main concern. It was very clean and nice in the shop and the equipment was all new per person. I will likely go back and look forward to seeing my tattoo healed fully.

So I have officially changed Austins name to "Awesome Austin"! This was my first tattoo, so I was very nervous! He was very professional and made me feel at ease with his knowledge of the trade. The shop was clean and inviting. The guys were all friendly and accommodating (I was a walk-in). The best part was when I got home and took the bandage off to clean it. The tattoo was very nice at the shop, but the shading really started to pop when I got home. I LOVE my new tattoo. Thanks Austin!
