I would not recommend this this establishment. I decided to give a gun "give away" before the holidays for a prize, and unfortunately decided to do business here. I went in and gave them $500.00 for a gun that was put on lay away for the winning customer to come pick up. I never signed ownership of his gun, just gave them the money! (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!) I was told by 2 different employees that if my customer decided to purchase a different gun than the one I had chosen, he could buy anything in the store up to the $500.00 and could pay the difference if his purchase was more. Here is the bad part... My customer went to receive is prize and wanted to get a different gun for his wife for Christmas. Apparently the owner Rodger Mincey told my customer that he would only give $395.00 toward another purchase. Needless to say I have lost $105.00. I called to resolve the issue and when I spoke to the woman in the front she told me I would have to speak with Rodger but he is in an out all the time and have to try and catch him when he is in (this is absolutely absurd). This company took my money with no issues and then decided not to hold their end of the deal. Poor business ethic and terrible customer service. I disappointed how my customer and I both were treated in this situation! With all the other stores in the area, I am sure you can find a better one that may actually care about the hand that is feeding them.

The worse customer service I have ever encountered. I spent over $2600 on my rifle with them. They are the rudest people I have ever seen in retail. My wife had already put money on the gun for a surprise for me. She put the gun on lay-away so I had to finish the deal with them. We were told, we could not get our money back because they could have sold it to someone else so I would not be able to ask for a refund. They were rude to me and they were very rude to my wife! Heaven forbid, being the guy who asks a question about the equipment that I am interested in putting on the gun. If you are not a gun expert or if yo dont use the right vocabulary, they do not want to help you! I will never go there for anything else!!!!!!!!! Especially, when they are over priced. They say they have the best prices blah blah blah. The Fox Hole in Gainesville beat them by hundreds and respectful and polite. This place is a joke! I think they would be a lot more happy to not even have customers. Just their buddies would suffice. From their actions and reactions to things, customers are simply annoying and should not be allowed to be in our presence!!!!!! Especially, to want to buy anything in the store.

Do I have to look a certain way to get any service from you guys? I come in time to time to see if you have any of my gun related needs in stock (which you usually dont and if you do the prices are grossly inflated.) Every time since before you moved to the new location until today I have gotten the worst service (or lack there of) out of any pawn shop/gun store I have ever been to. Your employees have never spoken a word to me, ever. Even if I am right in front of them. I blame it on your employees pre judgement of how I look. As a GWL holder, an avid hunter and a gun enthusiast it is your loss in profit from me and anyone else that your employees decide to prejudge against. Oh and anyone reading this thinking they are racist or anything similar I am a white male. So please Dawsonville gun what wardrobe should I wear or which way should I comb my hair over to get the least little bit of help from just one of your employees?

Where to start...I had a can transferred to these guys and worked with Matt to do the BATF paper work. This was in Feb 2014. That summer I checked with BATF on the status of my process and they informed me it should be no later than Nov 2014. Dec 2014 contacted BATF again to check since no word from anyone and they told me my application had been approved in Sept. No word from Matt or Dawsonville Gun and Pawn. Went to get my transfer completed as soon as I hung up with BATF because they sat on my completed paper work for over three months with no phone call, no nothing. All Matt could say was it was stuck in someone else folder. So I agree with some of these other posts, no more business of mine will be going here....ever! Jerks!

Not me....I needed the services of a gun Smith which they provide. The gun Smith has a full time job elsewhere so this is part time, which is great. I asked what days and times he would be in and they said later in the week but would not tell me when. I called several times to be told the same thing. Well I tried one more time and all they would say is "I have no idea". Not trying to earn new customers I guess. My complaint has nothing to do with the gun Smith but with the attitudes of the staff. With that kind of attitudes I would NOT bless them with my business. Appears a lot of folks have the same experience. Too many options around that want my business so I will happily move on.

Ive been doing business for almost 25 years with this store and the previous 400 Jewelry and Loan. There is No one that beats there prices hands down. For the person who cant get anyone to talk to him you have never been to the big chains where they dont know what their guns are or anything about them to tell you. Matt, Paul, Roger and all the staff are super helpful. If they dont have what your looking for they will find it. Best store in the state and now a fine gunsmith on the property.

I came into the store fairly new to guns. I asked an employee what hand gun would be best for a beginner, instead of answering my question he went to the other side of the counter to chat up a customer who came in after me and obviously knew him. I got no help after that safe to say I will never go their again, there is another store with much better service not to far away the Georgia Gun Store

Obviously a "family and friends" business. Prices are normal but not one person asked if I needed help. I was with $800 cash for a Glock and accessories, but after 20mins and ME calling someone to help me (who saw me and was texting) was very rude and appeared to roll his eyes when I told him I was looking to buy a Glock. Worst store as far as friendliness.
