Heres the thing. I HATE buying cars. I cant stand the thought of a middle guy, in *any* industry, profiting off of a product they didnt make themselves. Why? Because I run a production company and agencies have tried to "sell" my services to corporations and take a cut off the top without having any involvement whatsoever. So having this predisposition towards the car industry, I definitely had my guard up to say the least. Dealerships in metro Atlanta were absolute sharks and tried everything in their power to "earn my business today" which automatically disqualified them in my mind, despite a nice smile and confident handshake. My BS meter is too sensitive for that. Their initial quotes were an absolute joke too if youve spent 5 minutes on the internet researching fair market values or KBB. Fed up with Atlanta, I ventured east to my college town, Athens, and let me tell you, there was such a palpable difference between my experience at Heyward Allen vs. metro ATL as a whole. The culture is totally different. Id definitely recommend Joe Davis, Brennan Bennett and Heyward Allen Toyota in general if youre looking to buy a Toyota, and heres why. I knew exactly what I wanted, I had done my research, and Heyward Allen recognized that and worked with me to get 1. what I wanted at the price I wanted but 2. on my terms at the pace I wanted to go, which really meant a lot to me. They werent pushy, and I felt heard and respected. I drove off the lot feeling like I had made a great decision on a great vehicle at a price Heyward Allen was willing to work with me on. Joe was especially kind and diligent getting me in position for the purchase. After all the paperwork was signed, he spent the time to give me an authentic explanation for WHY hes in the business which really showed me a different side to his motivations other than making money. I really appreciated that, and I was even more reassured that I had made the right decision and had done my business with the right folks who earned it way more than the other four dealerships I visited over the past 6 months. This all boils down to the following recommendation: If you fit my description, are fed up with getting pushed around, see through the facades and BS 99% of dealerships throw at you and want nothing more in the world than some easy-going, professional salespeople to shoot straight with you with an honoring attitude regarding a vehicle purchase, please head over to Athens, visit Heyward Allen Toyota and ask for Joe. If you like coffee, he also gives you a can of his favorite whole-bean medium roast too which was a nice touch. Thanks again, Joe!

The two salesmen James and Geary, were great to work with. They basically cemented the deal the night before (Wednesday). James informed me the vehicle was mine, to bring the cut check within the next two days. I live in SC and was making the 5 hour round trip on Friday to pick the car up. I cant say the same positive information about the sales manager(s). I never spoke to a sale manager throughout the week long deal. They never took the opportunity to call me and introduce himself (herself) during the entire process. Needless to say, both salesmen were off the very next day. On Thursday, Gearys day off, he spent most of the day helping me decide what wheels to have put on and trying to coordinate a time to have them done on Friday before I arrived. In their absence I would think a sales manager would step in and handle any viable information that needed to be passed along. I receive a phone call from Geary about 3:30 telling me it may help to go ahead and put a deposit on the vehicle and to let the dealership know what time the wheels were going to be put on. I immediately called the dealership to only to be told by a random salesmen that the car is currently being detailed for a customer who is there buying it. Basically what happened is the sales manager was willing to play the highest bidder game, and sacrifice a customer and this review. My wife and I have been looking at jeeps for the last month in hopes of finding one before leaving on our beach trip. We were all excited we finally found one, then I had to let my kids down at the last minute. Geary still put forth the effort and had to swallow what happened. He called me to inform me he was going to try everything he could to help me find another one. I can appreciate his effort! What I dont appreciate is the manager dropping the ball, and then having the salesman pick up the pieces. I would suggest this company train their manager(s) on how customers should be treated. This was a complete farce.

My experience with Heyward Allen has been very pleasant. We have purchased several vehicles from Heyward Allen. We purchased our first vehicle from the dealership in 1981. Several more vehicles and sales people followed over the ensuing years. Then a few years ago we met Phil Cross. He was our sales person for the purchase of a Toyota Tundra. He was very pleasant to deal with. He knew his side of the business well. He was able to understand what we were interested in accomplishing by purchasing yet another Tundra. This was the 3rd Tundra we had purchased. We then went back to him for another Tundra only to realize that as strong and capable as the Tundra is we needed to get something larger. Phil didnt miss a beat-he continued to be pleasant and interested in us having something that met our needs. Fast forward to March 2, 2017. We went into Heyward Allen a couple weeks ago and began looking at the 2017 Highlander. I always have lots of questions about all manner of things related to whatever vehicle we consider. He had all the answers. He made sense to us. He was pleasant and patient in his dealings with us. We looked at other vehicles at other dealerships. Some Toyota dealers and some not. After that we made our decision-we would make our purchase at Heyward Allen and let Phil Cross be our sales person once again. Long story short we drove out of there today, March 2, 2017, as the very satisfied owners of a new 2017 Highlander. The. bottom line is that Heyward Allen is a great dealership. They are made even better with Phil Cross being on their team. Knowledgeable, honest, pleasant and transparent. That is how we would characterize him. Oh yeah he has an easy demeanor with a wonderful sense of humor. To sum it up - Go to Heyward Allen and ask to speak with Phil Cross-you wont be sorry.

I highly recommend Heyward Allen Toyota as the place to go for your next car! My husband and I were first time car buyers, and the Heyward Allen team was incredibly helpful to us in this process. They listened to what we wanted and walked beside us as we searched for the car that was right for us, rather than pressuring us to get a certain vehicle. To be honest, I was nervous about the process of trying to find a new car when it came time to replace our old one, but the staff at Heyward Allen Toyota made the car buying process easy, painless, and actually quite enjoyable for us. They had a great selection of new and used cars, they displayed kindness and integrity throughout the process, and they worked hard to meet us where we were at in terms of our budget for the car. All of the Heyward Allen team were great, but two gentlemen went above and beyond to make our car buying experience a positive one. Jovan Roseboro helped us in our initial search for a car, and Geary McWhorter helped us finalize what car was right for us and then worked on our behalf to help us get that vehicle. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Geary - he was knowledgeable about the cars, he listed to and understood what we were looking for in a vehicle, he was patient as we considered our options, and he helped us achieve our goals for the car. In addition, my husband and I really enjoyed getting to talk with him. Im confident that Geary, Jovan, and the other staff will take care of you and help you find a vehicle that youre excited about - just like they did for us. Im thankful that we got our vehicle from Heyward Allen Toyota. We love our car, and we cannot recommend this dealership highly enough!
