While lying in bed my hubby Leonard casually said, We should get tattooes on our wrist. He felt we could put our names on there. I jumped up and said,get up and get dressed! He was shocked at my reaction but I was down for it. It was totally a spur of the moment thing. He then told me to go and look up a reputable tattoo shop. I googled it and stumbled upon the name Inksomnia. At the time it was 18 reviews on there. I was impressed with what everyone else said on here and decided to give them a try.Boy was I glad I chose them. They were totally professional, the place was clean and the staff was friendly. I had called on the phone and the guy had agreed to fit me in on such a short notice, no appointment was necessary. When we got there Chan was actually just finishing up with a beautiful tattoo on his wife shoulder. I figured if he was willingly to do his wife he obviously felt it was a safe environment. We sat down and waited, looking through a myriad of portfolios to choose from for some really great designs. After about 7 minutes it was our turn. My hubby decided to go first and I noticed Chan took the time to clean everything and totally sterilize everything before he started. He opened fresh needles that were discarded after each use. He placed the stencil on Leonard and me being the perfectionist that I was asked him to re-position it to a more suitable spot. He moved it without any objections and made me feel he was truly trying to give good customer service. He started on Leonard and worked quickly to produce a great tattoo. Dealing with Leonard proved to be more easier then me. I have always been totally terrified of needles. Despite his patience and calming nature I totally chickened out and left the first time. As were driving off I thought of Chan dealing with us and I realized that I had no need to fear. If there was anybody I would want to chose to give me my first tattoo it definitely was Chan. So I got my hubby to turn around and we went back. At the time we arrived back it was already 5 minutes to closing. No one even treated us like we were a bother. everyone was personable, cracking jokes which really put me at ease. They understood it was my first time and they wanted me to feel comfortable with my decision. He then took me back there and took the same steps to ensure a safe and sterile procedure be done. I decided to get the tattoo on my leg instead of my wrist. Chan had a great sense of humor which helped me to concentrate less on what I was about to have done. While he did my tattoo I screamed bloody murder. I was acting like a big baby. I felt sorry for the poor guy. Dont know how he produced such a great tattoo through all that. The man was totally awesome but it would take an act of GOD to change my fear of needles. I was so totally pleased with the whole experience. He then gave us instructions to take care of the areas. He offered several products both in-house and alternative products we could use. We decided to purchase the in-house products since we totally trusted them to give us the right products to help heal better. We are now showing off our new tattooes and telling everyone that INKSOMNIA IS THE BEST PLACE AND THE ONLY PLACE THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND. If its your first time or maybe an addition to the rest, Chan is definitely the man to get it done in a clean, sterile, professional, personable environment.Oh yeah, the prices were pretty reasonable. Well have a great day and I am sure after going there you will be prompted to write a rave review. Okay, so I seriously never write reviews, but I have to share about this place! I have had both piercings and tattoos done here... and let me just be the first to admit that I am high maintenance, and very picky ;) *GENERAL* This shop is VERY clean, the people are SUPER friendly, and you can sense a very close knit team the minute you walk in the door. Great selection of jewelry, a beautiful aquarium, awesome location, and just all around a great place. The entire team was also extremely sweet to my 4 year old son, when we dropped in for a jewelry swap. Jason even made him a glove balloon. *PIERCINGS* I have had several cartilage piercings done by Jason and not only has he been SO sweet every time, he actually cares about his work. He goes SO above and beyond - he even swapped out my jewelry several days later to accommodate unexpected swelling. He genuinely wants you to have a good, healthy piercing - long term. I get compliments ALL the time about how evenly spaced and beautiful my earrings are, and that is because Jason takes extra special care. He will change the marker dot a million times until youre happy and will not once will you feel rushed. Jeremy is also fantastic - super friendly and talented. *TATTOOS* First and foremost, they really made me comfortable as I was very shy about getting noticeable tattoos and the whole cleanliness thing (which wasnt a problem, this place is spotless). I had a small tattoo done by Mike (the owner) and another 3 done by Hunter. Both of them are so incredibly talented and nice guys. I was very specific with what I wanted and Id imagine I would not be their favorite customer type since my choices were very generic and "Pinterest like," LOL. I chose to have Roman numerals (representing my husband and babies) on the side of my foot done by Mike. I also had a larger infinity symbol with my babies names included placed on my other foot, and one baby name on each wrist - which were done by Hunter. Seriously... these guys were PATIENT!! They watched and waited while I tried on ALL my different styles of shoes to ensure the placement and size was exactly what I wanted. I also had a consultation with Brian who was SO patient and really tried to draw out exactly what my (unclear) vision was for my babies and after more than an hour of his time - he actually encouraged me to wait until I was sure and said he wanted me to have a "beautiful tattoo" rather than just settling. How many people do you meet these days who pass up a customer for unselfish reasons? Thank you, guys!!!! Keep it up everyone, you have a lovely shop, talented artists/piercers, and work as a great team!!!! - Jackie

If i could give this place a ZERO i would. I got a side piece done by Mike 3 months ago and my god i have forever been scarred. Literally! I left the tattoo shop loving my piece and paid a fortune for it. Well come only two days later and im at the dermatologist with these horrendous pustules all over my side and back. the Dermatologist told me it was a severe staff infection.Im still on antibiotics. and the bumps are still showing up. the dermatologist is baffled at how this shop stays afloat because staff is pretty serious especially if left untreated when someone thinks, or is told by the shop, that theyre just putting "too much lotion". they maimed my body. PLEASE BEWARE!!!! THIS SHOP IS DIRTY!!!! He was picking at the cups that hold the ink with his fingernails before he put his gloves on started tattooing and was saying he had to do that because the cups wouldnt lay down straight if he didnt, and that could tip his ink over. i was weary and he assured me it was going to be okay. i called back on several occasions to tell him about what has happened and was told he was busy. Im so upset. I dont wear tank tops anymore and im covered in scars from all the staff cysts. my body is ruined and this horrible place is to blame. my tattoo that was in honor of my late aunt. now it is just a disaster from all the staff burrowing around the ink and causing the ink to leach with the puss. and for anyone that may think it is a tattoo ink allergy the dermatologist confirmed that it wasnt he said it was 100% staff because they cultured it and came back positive for staff. Just PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN COMING TO THIS PLACE!!! PLEASE!!! I DONT WANT ANYONE TO EXPERIENCE THE HORROR I HAVE.
