I shop at the University Pkwy Publix every week. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have liked shopping there for 12 years but this past week something happened to change my mind a little. While I was in the produce section a couple came in with a large English Bull Dog. They put a small mat (about the size of a table placemat) in the bottom of the cart and together lifted the large dog into the cart! I must add that the dog looked unclean and was slobbering. They continually touched the dog, pushing him back in the cart while they touched the unwrapped produce. I spoke to a manager who said their policy is to let all pets in the store and are not permitted to distinguish between large and small, service animals and non service animals. I wrote to corporate hdqts. and received a phone call from the local manager of this store. She confirmed what the other manager said and said if an animal is in a cart, the bagger at checkout takes the cart to the back to be sanitized. I cant imagine that this happens in every instance. I will next write to the Health Dept. about this. Im really disappointed in Publix Supermarkets for having this unsanitary policy for their stores. PS...I am an animal lover. Ive had dogs, many cats, birds, fish, etc. in my home all my life, but NEVER in my shopping cart!

Today was Great! Id gone to FIVE STORES TRYING to locate GRACE Jamaican Jerk Spice Rub. No where in Sarasota could I locate anything remotely related to what I needed. But today I spoke to one of your Great staffers who went in pursuit of what I was looking for and to my Chagrin Publix did not have it. BUT he looked up my product and found an alternative called "Schizzle" Jamaican Jerk Marinade. We laughed about the Brand name, but I purchased 2 jars! I have already prepared my meat and it is happily marinating getting Happy for the Smoker Tomorrow!!!! Thanks Publix for employing Great People! He is very handsome and helped me Tremendously!!!

I have never been that impressed with the publix store on university. In Montana I was used to a lot better choices of food in one store. I was looking for raspberry jelly for a sauce and was told by a stocker that there was no such thing. Funny but the publix on 70 had it. I also looked for grapeseed oil. There were at least 30 types of olive oil by no grapeseed. They even had avacado oil. Very frustrating especially when they have a cooking school attached to the building. I will try the publix on 70 next time I shop. Also last time I shopped at university there were celery worms in my celery.

Tired of the rude employees in the bakery in this store. I had a family member who worked for publix as a baker for 10 years before he died. He would of never treated a customer so rudely. They cant tell me if their butter cream frosting is free of shortning? What the heck? I can not eat shortning because of health issues. I was told by the decorator that it is a secret recipie. How stupid. I wasnt asking for the recipie. Definitely wont by any pastries from them again. Wish their wonderful store manager would see whats going on in that bakery.

A large store with a wide selection. The staff can be very friendly, but Ive found many employees to be rude, arrogant, and incompetent. The prices are also inflated, and you can expect to pay 10%-60% more than you would at discount retailers. This location generally isnt over crowded, but Ive run into a few angry customers, particularly in the parking lot. Parking also isnt exceptionally easy to find and many drivers "fly" through the lanes

Great customer service & beautiful store. The store is spotless, the selection is huge, manager Dan Murphy and all his super staff saw to my every need. The departments go beyond call of duty to see to my needs. I am disabled and even when my medical issues rear their ugly heads the service crew take care of me like I was a relative. It is a very busy store so I recommend off rush hour for best experience. Thank you all at Publix

My go-to grocery store. Friendly employees, fresh produce, a HUGE selection, and my favorite part: The fresh soup bar in the deli with 4 selections daily. The only negative is it can get crowded at peak hours and some common items run out. The B1G1 deals make it a better value than other grocery stores in my opinion.

This is one of their "super" supermarkets...larger selection...greater depth...additional specialties. What is the deal with dogs bring allowed in grocery carts??? I am DEFINITELY not a "fussy" person, but when did it become okay to take pets to stores, nevermind FOOD stores???

Not only is this the best publix Ive ever had the pleasure of shopping at. Their deli and sub Dept is TOP NOTCH. If you happen to get Nate making your sub consider yourself lucky!!! Nate makes the best subs and he always does it with a smile and excellent attitude!

The last three or fours times I have been here, I have gotten food that was already spoiled or near spoiled. Not sure what the deal is, but avoid fresh vegetables and fruit and extremely perishable foods.

Always my go to store because not only do they offer gourmet items, theyre cooking school offers trendy cuisine. Parking lot is not engineered properly and it should be remodeled

I find the Publix on University is a very pleasant environment in which to shop. I usually go earlier in the day and seldom have to wait in long lines! It is clean and friendly!

This is a huge Publix. Everything is great here except the one time I got sushi here the rice was hard like it had been sitting there for a long time and it was partially frozen.
