I am from Scotland and visit Miami about once a year. Having had a couple of meals at another Cuban eatery, where I found the food cold and unappetizing, Downstairs was a revelation. Its an old filling station building and forms a Convenience store with one major addition - hot food is served all day. There is a breakfast menu and a dinner menu. I had grilled chicken breast which was massive and perfectly cooked. You get a choice of two sides (veg, rice, fries etc) and choices of meats (chicken, steak etc) all for $9-12. Its incredibly good value. The food is simple but the chef is good at his job and the food was always perfectly cooked. My mate had steaks on both occasions we visited and cant wait to return. In addition to grilled chicken they will do you breaded chicken too. If you are in the area, eg staying at the Clarion, Extended Stay, Sleep inn, Comfort Inn etc. eat here. You wont regret it and get your snack supplies here too as its cheaper than the Shell garage down the road. Super friendly staff. Gracias. Soy de Escocia y visita Miami una vez al año. Habiendo tenido un par de comidas en otro restaurante cubano, donde encontré la comida fría y poco apetecible, abajo era una revelación. Es un antiguo edificio de la estación de servicio y forma una tienda de conveniencia con una importante adición - la comida caliente se sirve todo el día. Hay un menú de desayuno y un menú de cena. Tuve pechuga de pollo a la parrilla que era enorme y perfectamente preparado. Te dan una opción de dos lados (verduras, arroz, patatas fritas, etc.) y opciones de carnes (pollo, carne, etc.) por $ 9-12. Es increíblemente buena relación calidad-precio. La comida es sencilla pero el chef es bueno en su trabajo y la comida siempre estaba perfectamente preparado. Mi compañero tenía carnes en ambas ocasiones visitamos y no puedo esperar a volver. Además de pollo a la parrilla te hará pollo empanado demasiado. Si estás en la zona, por ejemplo alojarse en el Clarion, Extended Stay, dormir Inn, Comfort Inn, etc. comer aquí. No te arrepentirás y conseguir tus provisiones de aperitivos aquí también como es más barato que el garaje Shell por el camino. Super amable personal. Gracias.

Pk en este lugar asen trabajr a los empleados como perro no le dan hora de armuerzo so 15 minutos en 8 horas comer super rrapido en tanguetas en la cosina toda cochina y la supervisora trata super mal a los empleados yo no se lo recomiendo si secome bien pero dan comidad recalentada y aveses recoje. Las cosas del piso y las buelven a poner la verda ni una estrellaa les doy

Great beer selection, good sandwiches and food. Just be on the lookout for expired shelf products I regularly visit here on my lunch breaks and i have found a couple of them, no big issue the staff will change them gladly.

Ask for a pastrami sandwich I told them to make it hot and it was totally cold! Not happy at all with that .
