Dover Jewelers is simply best estate jewelry store. My dealings with them were entirely long-distance via the internet and phone, so I imagine that their in-person service is as professional, caring, detail oriented and accommodating. I will recommend them to anyone I know seeking a jeweler. Allow my story to serve as testimonial: In searching for the perfect later-life engagement ring, I was seeking a unique estate piece. I live in close proximity to New York City, so there are a plethora of diamond jewelry dealers where I was able to view rings in person. However, none were just what I wanted. Extensive on-line searching led to several possible rings, but (a very big “but”) most were too far away to travel to see in person. Numerous jewelers could arrange to have a ring sent, but only after my fully purchasing the ring with the promise of a refund if I was not satisfied upon inspection. Having been burned by various internet and/or credit card issues in the past, I was reluctant to wire tens of thousands of dollars with merely the hope that an unknown jeweler would keep their word. Upon further digging, most at least would impose shipping/insurance charges and some even had hefty hidden “re-stocking/handling fees” which would have amounted to several hundreds of dollars, all merely to look at a given ring in person to confirm if it was what I was looking for. Not Dover Jewelers. I am still in shock at how professional, friendly and accommodating they have been. First, the ring could be sent to me (from their store in Miami, Florida) at their cost both ways! Secondly, they merely required a “hold” for the purchase amount on my credit card – never actually charging me unless I later decided to keep the ring. Is there a fairer way to conduct business from afar for a product as personal as jewelry? In fact, their ring was exactly as advertised in terms of main diamond rating and clarity (not always the case if you’ve shopped around and then looked in person) and it was indeed “the one” for me. As promised, Dover Jewelers further paid for return shipping to/from them so that the ring could be properly sized (an up-size by the way, no charge) and also complied with my request that the shank be made a bit wider (as an antique piece it was a bit thin). Again, no extra charge. The ring was back to me within the week with gorgeous resizing/reinforcement. Throughout, my questions and communications were handled promptly, honestly and thoroughly (including with careful discretion as this was a surprise purchase). Before even seeing the ring, I advised Dover that I would be happy to always consider them in the future for my jewelry needs solely based on their business focus of truly putting the customer first. I recommend them with highest praise in all aspects of their merchandise, design, professionalism and service. UPDATE: 11/1/16 Flash forward to 2016. Now I was looking for a wedding band. Nothing “stock” was just right, and my fiancée and I both hoped for a double band look that both conformed to her unusual antique ring setting yet also complemented the engagement ring (versus either overwhelming it, or distracting from it). I sent some sketches of what I had in mind back to Veronique at Dover Jewelers. Viola! Again, with easy but through email and phone communication we were able to arrive at a rendering for a custom band which we approved. The final product was custom hand crafted and arrived shortly after - it was EXACTLY what we hoped for. Stunning. (see photos). Beyond the amazing craftsmanship is an equally outstanding commitment to personalized, thorough, professional service. Though we live over a thousand miles away, I continue to send any relative or friend interested in jewelers to Dover Jewelers because I can be certain of both the excellent product and service they will receive.

My wife and I have been clients of Dover Jewelry for many years. we feel extremely comfortable with this team of terrific people. It all started with our decision to catalogue her seldom worn jewelry of the past. I was amazed to see all that she had collected and nearly forgotten. I saw one of Dover Jewelrys ads and we decided to offer a few of the things for an evaluation. I was hesitant about consigning jewelry as this was a new concept for me. When the pieces brought much more than I had remembered paying for them when they went up for auction, I was intrigued and subsequently we began to be repeat customers. Last year was our fiftieth wedding anniversary and my wife selected her gift from Dover, a magnificent 25 carat star sapphire and diamond ring - not the best picture, but the star is wonderful, and the color a brilliant cornflower blue - brilliant diamonds, which made her a true queen of the night at our event as every woman admired the piece. My thanks to Dover Jewelry for their advice, unique items and my wifes delight. Each time they recommend something special that she will never see anywhere else. Dover Jewelry was absolutely excellent when I was looking to buy an engagement ring. Its a little nerve-racking purchasing a ring from across the country that you have never seen in person, but Veronique was awesome to work with and made me at ease. I was able to purchase the ring and get it sent to me to make sure it was in fact the ring that I wanted. I received it and it was exactly as I expected, and for a great price. I then needed to send it back to get re-sized (I didnt know my girlfriends ring size when I bought it) and so I contacted Dover and told them I was going to send it back on my own dime and for them to expect it in the mail. They immediately told me "You are not paying for shipping!" and within minutes they had sent me a shipping label to send it back. Saved me about $50 with the insurance it would have cost through the postal service...and then they overnighted it to me because the sizing took a day longer than they expected. Loved the ring, loved the service. I would definitely recommend Dover. Especially if you are a bit hesitant of buying a ring online like I was...the process was easier and better than I ever imagined.

My fiance and I bought my engagement ring and our wedding bands from Dover five years ago. For us, Dover offered the important alternative to purchasing a new diamond which may have come from unethical practices and exploitation of people and resources in developing countries. Estate pieces also allowed us to make the most of our budget. Recently, a side baguette fell out of my ring. I got an estimate from a local jewelry store, saved that amount, and then returned to the store to discover the estimate magically doubled in the time I saved. So I called Dover Jewelry, and they offered to replace it FOR FREE. Five years after purchase. I shipped it to them, and it was back on my finger within a week (so they also covered shipping). Now thats customer service!
