This use to be my favorite place to buy meat until we recently purchased some bad meat and the manager refused to exchange the bad meat or refund me back my money. Note, this was not the first time I purchased meat that was bad from this store. This was the third time we purchased meat that was bad. This time I decided to bring it to their attention and hope they would do something about it. We were told they could not accept the meat back because we had the meat longer than a day. "They only accept returns on meat the same day." I proceeded to call other Grocery stores to compare policies and it seems this is one of the only stores in the area with such a ridiculous policy. This was very disappointing considering we have been going here for many years. I guess this store doesnt value their customers as much as youd think. A little advice for the store manager, please make your policy clear to all customers, maybe have signs that are clearly visable for all customers to see. Have your cashiers explain the meat policy as they are checking out customers at the register. A little curtesy customer service goes a long way. Value your customers, dont treat them as if a few dollars is worth more than their business. Especially to your loyal customers. I honestly feel they are taking advantage of their customers with this meat policy. I am tired of being out of money and stuck with bad meat. Unfortunately, they lost a customer in me, hopefully this doesnt happen to others. Great prices, bad customer services!

I gave 5 stars for the food. Loved the arroz con gondules and the pasteles. The pernil was a bit dry. However, if I rated it for customer service I would have rated 1. I am of mixed ethnicity but appear more "gringo" than Puerto Rican. I watched as others got their boxes filled to the gills with food for the $6 lunch to go box. My server filled my container mainly with arroz and very little pernil. Plus she charged extra for a pasteles which she put in a separate box. I saw many others before me getting whatever they ordered including pasteles put into one container for $6.00 by other servers including mine. Do I think prejudice was behind this? Yes on the part of this one particular woman. Btw my use of Spanish and accent is quite good.

I have been to Las americas off and on for years, the food is delicious for a great price. But Ive also noticed prejudice towards others who are not latin, its been a while since Ive gone in because of this. I started going back and had a very bad experience today with prejudice and refuse to go back. And I imagine the latinos there who dont like white or blacks in "there store" are happy about that.

Good food, good butcher shop that offers cuts more typical to Hispanic countries. I like the food, and it is good but not the best. Overall I would recommend for the prepped food, good pricing on meat/ chicken/ pork and for those things that are hard to find at the supermarket i.e. tres leches, palomilla, jarritos etc. Not much in terms of vegetables and fruits.

The experience I continue to have with the food here is GREAT! each and every time for the past 4yrs I have had great customer service, NEVER got sick or ever had been disappointed whenever i step through those doors Im welcomed and its a family oriented atmosphere..Thank you Las Americas for your continued Great service and food that you provide to Longwood

Im a big white guy, the employees are very friendly and patient with my less than stellar Spanish. I hardly think there would be any discrimination or prejudice here, Spanish people are awesome. If you ever experience that it might be your own fault.
