Id probably give 5 stars if it werent for their no-coupon policy. A store can make a lot of money off manufacturers coupons. First of all, when a store mails their coupons to the manufacturer, they are reimbursed for the full value of the coupon, along with 8 cents per coupon for shipping and handling. So they lose no money at all on manufacturers coupons. Secondly, people who use coupons are often unwilling to make that same purchase without a coupon, and will go somewhere else to use their coupon. So Big Lots is losing a lot of sales with their ignorant coupon policy. Third, Im not sure if this is legal/allowed, but most manufacturers coupons good for a free item have a max value which is always (or almost always) significantly higher than Big Lots price. So Big Lots could potentially make more profit off some coupon purchases than they do off non-coupon purchases. Finally, Big Lots coupon policy probably angers some customers, who will respond by avoiding Big Lots (even when not using coupons). There are other discount stores to choose from. The positives about this store are the low prices on certain items and the valuable clearance section. Spices here are cheap... $1 per container, including curry powder, cinnamon, lemon pepper, pepper, chili powder, etc. The containers are as large as or larger than spice containers at other stores. They carry a wide selection of juice and cereal, also at prices that are, in some cases, the lowest available. Make sure you check the clearance section if you go here.

used to be the spot to goto because of the staff... we used to walk in and say, " Happy Saturday, were here" out loud on saturday mornings and we got a warm welcome... after changing almost everyone out not long ago... we get weird looks now by the new ones... so, were gonna suggest re training on the importance of customer service and "salty faces"

This store is getting some long needed rehabilitation, starting with a huge new block letter sign! Its in a great plaza that has a Mother Earth Natural Foods, Wendys, and Harbor Freight (new).

Always very nice, neat and accommodating to the customers. Ive been to MANY "Big Lots", with raising 3 kids, from NJ to Florida and they really are a great store in North Fort Myers.
