How they lost a $600 sale and why you should go anywhere but here!!! TLDR; Wal-Mart is only getting worse and why people still go there is a mystery to me. You can find all the same things for the same prices in many other places. I broke my streak of not shopping in a Wal-Mart for the last 4 years. I will NEVER go back. I finally learned my lesson. I gave 2 stars because Cynthia the manager that took over was apologetic and calm. Why its not 5.. Aside from the typical Wal-Mart BS that had me going everywhere but there, I decided to give them another chance since its right down the street from my new apartment. Big mistake. Still the same understaffed and lazy store-chain rivaled only by Home Depot. I entered the store with low expectations due to my many experiences of countless others. I planned on buying a new 55 TV to surprise my wife when she got off work tonight. After I found the one I wanted and selected a backup in case they were out of stock, I proceeded to the Electronics counter to get assistance since they no longer keep a stock on the floor (probably due to theft - which is probably due to the lack of staff to deter said thieves). There were 2 customers at the counter when I arrived and a 3rd showed up shortly after me. The cashier was clearly busy helping the guy that seemed irritated that the code on his xbox live(I believe) card wasnt working. The cashier also had an elderly couple that Im assuming he was already helping. Something having to do with their cell phone(I think they were getting a new one). A lady showed up to help the irritated customer and they walked off, the cashier went back over to the elderly couple. The 3rd customer that showed up after me decided to not wait any longer and walked off. At this point I was standing there probably close to 5 minutes maybe longer. Two other people showed up and waited for a bit and then rudely interrupted the cashier to ask where something was. About 10 more minutes pass as well as a few employees, but as expected NOT ONE of them asked if I needed help, I was making it obvious that I needed help, maybe not obvious enough. At this point I had thought long enough about the TV that I decided I could go with a smaller one, so they lost about $200 right there. After waiting there for most likely 30 minutes while he was still trying to figure out how to do whatever with the phone, I glance over at the clothing section to see THREE EMPLOYEES STANDING THERE TALKING!! As soon as one of them notices me looking, they move down a bit where I cant see them. Ive had enough at this point so I leave my cart at the counter and head for the exit, guess whos hiding right around the corner. Those same three employees. Still talking. So I went to Target, the electronics cashier was busy but another employee passing by asked if I needed help, I still went with a smaller TV but at least I was in and out in under half the time it took me to accomplish nothing but stress at Wal-Mart. I called Wal-Mart as soon as I arrived home to see if I could get answers as to why I was treated so poorly and worth losing the company $600 over a cell phone and chit-chat. Poor Cynthia had just gotten on the clock when she was greeted to my pleasant voice over the phone. She said she would look into it, I want to believe her, but then again, I dont care because this was the final straw. I will under NO CIRCUMSTANCES buy another thing at Wal-Mart, even if Im dying. I pray that in my lifetime they will close down for good. By the way, the useless manager that was on at this time was Heather. Mustve been her first day, or more likely, she was one of the three employees talking. Whoever is the owner of this store should look at the security footage and watch HALF A GRAND walk out the door, while their employees do nothing about it.

Try to avoid if other area stores can supply YOU. 1 - A check-out clerk was processing my groceries. When I noticed nothing was moving off the full counter I asked what was happening? She advised me the carousel was full, I needed another cart. I asked her to have someone get one so we could continue. She refused to do ANYTHING about getting another cart OR CALLING ANOTHER EMPLOYEE (my cart was still 1/3 full, and the counter was full). She said "Its not my job". I suggested she call somebody else. She repeated Thats not my job". I asked , Well, whose job is it?" She then got snippy, claiming I had said something I had not said - probably due to her poor performance in school regarding our language. This "NO BAG-BOY" at Walmarts checkouts has been a problem at these stores since Sam Walton died. Saves them money, but shifts part of the burden to us, the customers, without pay. They often have inadequate number of check-out clerks on duty and BOTH these problems make checkout slower than Publix (WHERE I have gone BACK to FOOD SHOPPING) and other like stores. 2 - Another time, while checking out I started talking to a young girl (about 12) who asked about the Wolf print on my tee-shirt. I told her I have a dog at home that looks like this, (the picture). We talked a bit more and said "My dogs like ladies". Her mother got all pissy and in my face, telling me her daughter was not a lady, she was a girl. (Again, ignorance of the definition of the word LADY, which has nothing to do with age.. And I had said what my dogs liked, not that her daughter was or was not a lady. She then told me she "had a gun, indicating her purse, and a license to use it". Actually, i believe that license lets her carry it, not shoot it unless her life or property (which she was no-where near) are in danger. But, even if I had called the girl a lady, and she did act very lady-like, that is not one tiny bit aggressive. She came well into my space, well pas the check-out - I had turned to leave, she came after me. Therefore, I sought managements assistance. An Assistant Manager did not help and sought to turn it over to the Manager, who was only a few feet away, but he too walked away, ignoring the entire matter. NO ONE at WALMART did anything regarding this assault (see FL Statutes, Chapters 790 and 776). She had violated the law and Walmart management did not care one tiny bit. STAY ALERT WHEN YOU SHOP THIS STORE. IT CAN BE UNNERVING OR/AND DANGEROUS AND MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE. 3 - You may have noticed - Their EVERYDAY LOW PRICES signs are Walmarts every day prices and seldom related to their prices in comparison to other stores. Its clever marketing, but not fully truthful.

They advertise things in the electronics department they do not even have in stock, what is the point of this? I tried to buy 3 (yes, THREE) different laptops they had for sale. The first one, they were out of, the second one, they had, and then it rang up for 50$ more, they said someone switched the sticker...the third one, guess what....not in stock. WTF???? So they called another location, who showed they had a few in stock, they were on hold for 20 minutes while I waited right in front of the guy. He said they showed 2 in stock, and they were $50 cheaper. SCORE!!!! But wait....I drive there, not only is it $50 MORE, but they dont even have the thing in stock. Not for WEEKS they said!!! BUT its advertised on sale, on display....a waste of 2 hours time, driving around, talking to more employees than necessary. What a lame ordeal. The manager girl at the second location said she couldnt do anything. The only thing I wanted was to buy a laptop. She was having a melt down. She did call a stock person to see if there were any on the truck, I explained I just needed one, didnt care the brand, as long as it was Windows operating system. They said they had one, and brought me a Chromebook. Why do these people work in the electronics division if they are totally unfamiliar with something as obvious as knowing what Windows is, as an operating system????? Walmart, you get a big FAIL on me trying to spend a few hundred bucks. Wasted hours of my time, gallons of my gas, and pissed me off, all the while, exposing how you have people working in departments that are shells....nothing really for sale, just displays, and the staff that has no clue what Windows are...outside of having a separate crew that does that lol......what a joke your electronics staff are. Im sure you have some that are qualified, why not make sure they are ALL qualified, or dont put them in that department? By all means, open invitation for a Walmart rep to contact me to try to make this right. Im guessing no one cares, because youre the largest retailer.
