Bad, poor, 1-star, etc. This store survives during the day on a lunchtime crowd of the employees in the area who have limited time to get lunch. Getting a sandwich at the deli could take 40 minutes which is RIDICULOUS and staff is lazy, unfriendly, and incompetent at best on how to assemble a sandwich. I just took pictures to show how bad the one I just got was. VEGETARIANS BEWARE also, the girl who made my sandwich put the dirty knife she used to fold and cut sandwiches with, into the mayo jar without even cleaning it off. Also, BUYER BEWARE, they keep food like pasta salad in the container by the deli for days. Just bought a spinach and feta pasta salad that tasted expired and after looking at the label I saw it packed Monday morning and it is end of day Wednesday and still for sale. Starbucks service is not much better. Cash register froze mid-transaction and to even get a manager to come reset the machine took 3 calls to the front and 15 minutes of my time. Wrote a complaint on their website yesterday afternoon and have yet to even get a response. Dont waste your money!

Convenient location (garage below) with good selection but check out can either be very slow or the cashier is just whack. Its a different experience each time I go. HTs that Ive been to regularly in the South are much more friendly and consistent. Ive walked home to find completely smashed bananas or bread enough times that I just pack my own groceries now. Sometimes they charge you for the wrong item...and then throw you shade when you tell them that they are wrong. Just one of many examples: once I bought a yellow bell pepper that rang up as "buddhas hand." Now, I have no idea wtf a "buddhas hand" is but I think most adults can identify a yellow bell pepper. Well this cashier was not having it when I told her it was wrong and had to call a manager over when I refused to pay $8.99 for what is clearly a yellow bell pepper. Also, they charge for plastic bags but some cashiers will double bag everything.

This review is purely about the Asian Bar in Harris Teeter. Luv the store! The food at this particular bar is terrible! Vegetable egg is mostly a greasy fried crust with very little vegetables in it. The fried rice is flavorless with vegetables and eggs. Looks good, but has no real taste. (I know. I know. Rice should be complimented with the meat selection.) That brings me to their Signature Orange Mandarin Chicken. That is an oily tasteless mess! Sorry HT! But there is a lot wrong with the receipt here. For the record, all of their other food in their hot bar and salad bar has always been on point. But this Asian Bar should be shutdown until you get someone with experience to make the food here. It is really disappointing to have to give you guys a negative review here as the rest of your establishment is great!

Love this Harris Teeter! The staff is always very friendly, the store is clean and organized well, the selections are great and the prices are very reasonable, especially for a city store! They have a great salad bar, a hot bar, a sushi bar with a sushi chef on staff, a pizza bar, a custom sub and sandwich counter, a great bakery section and lots of healthy options, including vegetarian and vegan. Its a great place to grab lunch if you work in the area, and also a great place to grab some groceries while getting lunch, so its one less stop on the way home from work. They also have a Starbucks inside and offer breakfast fare in their salad bar area in the morning. Absolutely LOVE having this Harris Teeter in the hood!

The people that are very in customer service theyre very unprofessional I had a numerous incidents where me being a black man I would walk up to the counter and ask had a problem with money machine woman came out boldly and said oh no not a money machine oh no not our money machine I had to call back on her I had another incident back in the meat department with one we wanted to sell me the end of the meet but yet the person right in front of me should you grab the whole piece of ham and stuck it up on the slicer just as nice they have a racial issue in that store yes they do it if you think Im kidding go there yourself and youll see

I love this location. Excellent customer service. The manager (Charlie) is always in store and available to answer questions. Lashawn has the best seafood department. Always fresh. Anthony cuts my steaks specifically to my liking. Ping ,makes my sushi to order. Sylvia is so specialized in the chess department. Justin & Erica manage an awesome bakery department. I visit this store at least three times a week. Groceries, deli, bakery or just visiting the Starbucks Im happy to be in Harros Teeter being treated like Im special.

This Harris Teeter has a leg up on the one a few blocks over in Capitol Hill, as it is laid out in a much more logical fashion like most grocery stores. Selection is decent. Prices are pretty expensive though, Im wondering if it and the other nearby competitors are going to take a major hit when they build the Trader Joes nearby. Their cashiers are the slowest scanners in the history of the world. It takes 3 times as long to check out here as it does at any other grocery store.

no beef bacon, thier turkey sausage options are wrapped in pork. I live up the street but I have the travel far just to get breakfast meat thats doesnt contain pork casing. Otherwise your only option is chicken sausage or turkey bacon. about 40 options of pork bacon no beef. The staff are nice but complaint after complaint I still cant get my neighborhood store to carry more none pork breakfast options.

I love this location and the employees are friendly and very helpful... However I wish corporate would have posted the holiday hours... They were close earlier then they did last year for Christmas Eve but I understand that they wanted their employees to be with their families. However a business is a business and communication with the public is always needed!

The Navy Yard Harris Teeter is everything youd normally get at Harris - quality products, good service. However, and its a big HOWEVER, the Produce Department is consistently understocked. Almost every time I go there theyre out of this or that, which forces me to go somewhere else to complete my shopping. Increasingly I just dont bother in the first place.

They are usually well stocked and I have never gone there and come out empty handed. The staff is quite nice as well, with them learning my last name and addressing me as such it added a personal feel when shopping that was quite nice. It is a busy store though, and dont be suprised to find long lines waiting you once your done getting your items.

Great store. Parking is easy and check out is really efficient. Saturdays are so busy but there are lots of cashiers working. Produce is A+ and varied. Employees are helpful and available. I hope the SW Safeway reads the reviews because they could learn a lot about how to run a great store. Theyve lost my business after 14 years. Thanks HT!
