20+ year customer at Acme Lantana and over the past few years, this store has constantly declined. The produce is horrible; the service doesnt exist. Hardly ever have baggers and cashiers just pile us large orders on the belt, until the customer bags themselves! Dont bother with reusable bags -- if they do have baggers, they dont use the right ones for cool foods; they overfill and rip the handles etc This is an expensive store -- and it used to be really great -- last few years it has just continued to go down, The layout is horrible -- cant tell you how many times, I am T-boned from other carts because of the layout! Bagged produce----stay away from it -- you will always have to throw something out that you cant see, but it bad. When shopping in the produce section - you will always see rotting and spoiling food that has not been removed (stuck my finger thru an avocado just picked it up!) Always have clutter in the isles; always moving things around to places that you cant figure out --- Wonder what it will take to get rid of the current leadership at this Acme and bring it back to the store it used to be. Until then -- I will shop as little as possible there -- its worth the extra time and gas for me to NOT have to be there anymore.

I am new to the area, and Acme so I am still finding the store layout to be confusing. Went through the whole place the other day and couldnt find honey. I have also found the last 3 times I have been that there are items on the shelf that are so far past their expiration date I am appalled they are still there. Doesnt someone rotate stock? I was in on January 26th and pulled a Bolthouse Farms drink out of the cooler by the produce section with a sell by of 1/4/15. I pulled 2 more before I got to a different flavor that was safe. I purchased individual Dannon yogurts during a prior shopping trip and found when I went to eat one the next day that it was 3 days past the sell by date. I will be very cautious when I shop here and plan to start doing my primary shopping elsewhere. Seemed like a good place at first.

Ive been a customer since 1993, and although I stopped shopping there for many years because the manager, John Donahue was unprofessional and rude, but in recent years I found the staff to be very helpful and have no complaints other than an ongoing tendency to relocate things... I think that is the one single thing people hate the most be it a grocery store that changes the locations of the things you buy on a whim, or a computer app or website that redesigns itself so that you have to learn to use it all over again. The fail here is that people dont like things being redecorated on a whim, most customers want to get in and out and expect things to be where they were last month, but I give them kudos on a very helpful staff, and I can only assume new management, so Ill offer them 4 stars.

I have always hated this "go to" grocery store thats near my house. NOW, their coffee section is like "no one grinds.. give em ground".. wth? Anyone who wants a good cup of coffee will grind for g*ds sake! Very few choices for whole bean now.. And I just went to go to organic snack section, and it gone..! Im sure (hope) its somewhere, but I didnt have the time to look. Once again, proving WHY I shop at Whole Foods ( which, believe me!!! Is WAY WAY cheaper than Acme!) If you want crappy food at expensive prices.. youll love this store! Otherwise, it SUCKS!! I have lived near it for 12years., it has always sucked!

Not a bad place to grab groceries, just not my favorite. I think the Acme in Newark has a better organic section, but this one has a better cheese selection. What made me come on here to leave a review, however, is I bought yogurt there Tuesday and eating it this morning on the following Thursday realized it expired 10 days ago. I should have checked myself, but that shows how neglected some of their product inspection might be.

Constantly under renovation and reorganization creating a lack of consistency for a positive grocery shopping experience. Lets get things organized and specialty shops (deli, sandwich, take-out, etc ..) properly staffed so shopping can be uneventful, rather than a stressful, experience.

Getting better I think but still over priced for what is essentially a typical American grocer. Maybe has stepped their game up a little with recent renovations. This one is a little better than the one 2 mins down the road (which is like owning park place and boardwalk in monopoly).

Just purchased some Grilled Chicken from the pre cooked food bar. Chicken was dried out terribly and the onions rings were hard as rocks, appears they were sitting in the new show case all day possibly?

Bought 2 lb bag of mussels from seafood department. 10 min ride home in an air condition vehicle and all were dead. The smell was overwhelming Will not be going again. Very, very disappointed.

Ran out of green onions when I was there. At least four check yourself out stations. Make sure you bring your own basket or bag to save plastic!!
