Brought my custom built desktop in for overheating issues. I told them exactly what I thought the problem was and what I was looking to do to fix it. They said I needed to let them run a diagnostic for $30 and they would call me in 2-3 days. I called on the 3rd day to find out it hadnt been looked at yet and they were going to do it right then and call me. No phone call, so the next day I went to just get it back from them. They tried telling me it wasnt overheating and my OS was crashing and might need to be reinstalled. They also tried saying that it being overclocked was a part of the problem. They also lost the screws to my side panel. Nevermind that it was just sitting there with the panel off, I had to clean it as soon as I got home. They have no clue what theyre doing when it comes to pc builds and repairs, and just hit you with that diagnostic fee and try to scam you. Btw, the problem turned out to be exactly what I thought and I need to replace my Liquid CPU Cooler and just for extra assurance upgrading my intake fan. Oh and saying overclocked at only 10%, when the machine is capable of 30%, is a joke. Just goes to show if want something done right, do it yourself.

I cant believe how bad this place was. I shouldve paid better attention to the reviews. First of all they never answer the phone. I even witnessed them standing around in the store as the phone rang over and over again with no regard to it. I brought my computer there for 3 problems: programs were freezing up, I lost some files, and the cd drive didnt work. I was skeptical when they said it was ready so I paid for it and tried everything in my car. Everything was exactly the same, they did not address one problem. They also installed a few extra programs. Not only was nothing fixed...it will not even stay on anymore. When I brought it back in they told me to leave it again and I refused saying I just wanted my money back. They would not give me my money back. And to top it all off...not only did any of them barely speak good english.....it seems that every one of them had the personality of a tree stump. ZERO customer servcie skills. I am a small business owner, am very forgiving and would never write a bad review unless I was extremely disappointed. Mistakes happen in business....but you have to make right on them. I cant believe this place is still open.

We have been using PCW for a long time, and for the first time, we needed some "in office" assistance. We needed help networking a PC running VIsta to a Mac running XP using Parallels. Yes, complicated. The person came and set up our computers and was VERY nice. He explained everything to us and how it worked AND they did not charge a fortune (unlike the bog box companies). Then, a few days later, a problem cropped up and the same tech person came by and fixed it in a matter of an hour and again, VERY affordable and very nice. We have used them for everything from fixing laptops that you cant even turn on to re-formatting complete computers. They are NOT really a store for the average joe to just come in and purchase a computer (as far as i know, they did change places a while ago and have not seen the new ones) but they are #1 in my book for ANY computer repair.. So when your computer from BEST BUY craps out right after the warranty and free tech support is up, DONT call best buy geek squad.. Call PCW - you will be happy you did!

My Dell computer stopped taking a charge when plugged in. I brought it in and they told me it was a bad port. I called them five days later to find out the status and they told me it was the mother board and unfixable. I then went to pick up computer and they gave it to me minus my power cord. When I asked where it was, they had to spend about ten minutes looking for it. Then I got the computer home and it no longer booted up past an error message. AND there was grease ALL over the keys of the computer. My sister works in Branford at Advanced Office Systems, who apparently fix computers. So I brought it in there. As the tech took the computer apart, they found scotch tape holding pieces of the computer together inside!! They were able to get past the error message so I could now back up the computer and had me order a new mother board ($129 on ebay) and will be installing it for me. They clearly didnt know what they were doing and left my computer a total mess!!

I dropped of my All in one Computer on 12/04/2011 and today is 12/12/2011 I was told someone will call me within a week to let me know what is wrong with the system and the cost to fix it. Guess what I called them today and the kid said " Sir they are still looking at it" I asked him what do you mean still looking at it , When did they open the system he said he does not know and I asked him to please find out from the person who knows then he came back and said they did not get to it yet. The customer service is ridiculous. I always get my service done at "Best PC Haven" computer repairs and never ever had a problem. The only reason I took my computer to PCW because it was close to where I live. But this is the first and last time. I will rather travel to east haven and have "Best PC Haven" fix it. The price is very reasonable and very responsive.

Changed my screen there in hopes of finding a better quality screen, since the ones I installed were poorly manufactured. Not only is the screen they gave me thin, but the digitizer barely functions the way it should. It recognizes my finger about had the time and the ends of the screen dont work at all. I had it replaced once there during my warranty period and there was no improvement. Not to mention, it was almost a hundred dollars for a screen that costs maybe $20. Also, they charge a 30 dollar consultant fee. Didnt know it takes a genius to see that a screen in cracked. You get what you pay for. Dont save the 30 dollars to not get it done by Apple. Pcw uses cheap parts that make it even harder to use your broken phone.

Everything you are reading about LOUSY customer service is true. Two months and many trips to the Fairfield location to get my external hard drive fixed - really it was just the outside casing. The person I am working with is never there or no one seems interested. Service is low and really poor. No interest in fixing a problem. Wished I hadnt walked in one day while at the cleaners next door - this place is pathetic. Today my computer screen was almost scratched when the tech pointed toward the Macs glass with his pen - I had to grab the pen - these people are just not with it at all! Now they forgot to give me the power cord to the external hard drive and have no memory of where it is, NO ONE EVER RETURNS A CALL!
