Went here to pick up a Western Union, must complete a security check and sign up for a Big Y awards card before they give you your money. They blame the government for this but I have a sneaky suspicion its to get your drivers license on file and all your contact information for ads and emails for Big Y sales and events. Fishy dont you think? Oh well, got my money after 30 min investigation and phone call to corporate to verify my drivers license.

I think the produce, meats, fish and flower employees are wonderful. They are accommodating and helpful. The store was upgraded with more organic and natural items which is excellent. If the store wants to compete with Whole Foods, it will have to upgrade prepared items. Otherwise, this is a great local choice which is not too big.

I have never laughed so hard in my life. You dont have any fresh corn in October? I even asked the guy stocking the shelves and he said it was over for the season... ummm what? you do realize that every single store and farmers market has corn up the wazoo right now... right? dear god big y...

Embarrassed by the manager stating that I didnt pay for an item instead of saying maam you left an item in your cart. Tuesday June 20. My bill was $100 and Im going to lift lemon juice for a 1.99 Great lobster rolls though... Sincerely Kathryn

This Big Y has an exceptional produce aisle, as well as having a relatively nice but very small natural food section including gluten-free options, and their real gem is their cheese selection and their prepared foods.

Lived in Old Lyme for two years. The staff at this Big Y were always helpful and friendly and went out of their way to give great service. Great prices and a good selection of meat and fish. I recommend it.

I was looking into the click 2 card. I dont think its for me. I hesitate to enroll due to allowing cookies for the app to work. With the Stop &Shop app that is not necessary.

Great selection. My favorite feature is a freshly ground peanut & almond butter bar. Small aisles, but if a chain grocery store can be quaint, this is it.

A bit shocking to discover that some, if not all, their bakery bread is PREVIOUSLY FROZEN. Shouldnt they tell you that? It certainly is not truthful.
