At #starbucks in New Haven and in and they would not give me the bathroom to let my 4 year old make a potty unless I made a purchase. Never mind I walked in with my Starbucks cup in hand. I told him it was sad that he would rather let a child pee on the floor of his restaurant so that he can uphold his stores policy. He said his name was Zach and is the asst manager. He then proceeded to go into the back room come out take a few more orders and then advised the young man who was at the register to go and clean up the urine that was on the floor. The sad part was that a father and daughter saw my 4 year old rushing down the street and I mentioned that we were tying to make it to the bathroom at Starbucks and they advised me that the was a risk. Because I frequent Starbucks nationally I laughed this warning off, because hey, I needed my cup of coffee and I could kill two birds with one stone. I guess this is common practice. My oldest son attends Yale which is right down the street, and I feel a great deal of dismay that this is the environment that he is having to live in for the next 2 years..

Im visiting at New Haven and came here to donreading so I would fall asleep. This seems like a central place to be but I want to mention two things in particular. The lady who waited on me was very nice, respectful, and very efficient with making my drink. There is a varied group of people picking up drinks, many business men and women, college kids, and a large homeless population. All patrons were respectful and the staff has very nice hospitality. Giving costumers ice without being rude or making a big deal as Ive seen in other places (I mean what does it cost to make ice). A women came in and was super upset for spilling something on herself and the offered to refill her cup. She left then came back in and asked for a manager and I am very proud of the man for letting her know the number but also not giving into her demands. She will be okay. Thanks for a great place to be!!!

Ive never felt the need to give ratings to the places I go to, but this just felt NECESSARY. if I could give this place a Negative rating I would. The girls who work here are not friendly, or welcoming. They speak short and look annoyed. This Starbucks also has the most disgusting bathroom I have ever seen in any Starbucks. The womans bathroom doesnt work, so men and women are both using the only one they have. It has urine and feces marks on the top and bottom of bathroom, floors are gross and sink was equally as gross. This was my first time ever being in this Starbucks and definitely would be my last. I DEFINITELY had higher expectations considering this is a Yale community. Thumbs down X 100,000,000. At least my Mocha Frapp was good.

Busy as this Starbucks can get, close to the two Yale art galleries and boutique shopping, and adjacent to the campus, the friendly staff keep the line moving and get your order right. Great drinks, always a good selection of sandwiches and snacks. But can’t guarantee you will be able to find a seat. In warm weather you can take your drink across the street and sit at the cafe tables on the plaza of the Yale University Art Gallery.

So apparently preparing a bagel toasted dark requires an advanced degree . My first bagel came back as if it had been threatened with the toaster. Cold, doughy and gross. I returned it and asked for it to be toasted dark. It came back pretty much the same way. I get it. The precious little Yalies need their face time. But if you are going to offer to serve food the you should listen to what your customer requests..

Ive been to my fair share of starbucks, but none as slow as this one. They will literally have 5 people milling about and a line out the door. It takes 10-20 minutes just to get a black coffee, much longer if you are ordering an espresso drink. Since I work across the street, I suffer the long wait for convenience (and a steady stream of giftcards). The operation is simply inefficient.

Convenient location in New Haven. People working there are friendly. However, prices are way too high. Also, one of the main attractions, Internet access, is limited by a consistently slow and inefficient wi-fi. The Yale (Barnes and Noble) Bookstore is better (good location, great selection of books to browse, and a Starbucks with an excellent wi-fi).

Tall woman with brown pony tail, mid 30s and slightly heavy set (possibly a manager) is terse and rude. If you are having a bad day please dont take it out on me. One of the things about Starbucks that I can usually count on is the friendly staff. You need to adjust your attitude or drive customers away.

Only one outlet by the corner windows (where it was freezing and underneath the speaker) was working. It must have been cold everywhere as all customers in other parts of the store were wearing coats and scarves as well. Panhandler in here sometimes. Internet slow and unpredictable.

Strongly disliked the experience We went in for a holiday coffee and to our surprise, everyone sitting there on their laptops. Should be a time limit, not there wasnt. I understand people on laptops but on the weekend let other people enjoy. A coffee.

Nice to take a break in the middle of the down town New Haven. staffs are kind and nice. but sometimes, the speed of service is not fast enough than you expect because of piles of orders. it is pleasure to sit and watch outside. WIFI, yes!

Wonderful street views and a great, seemingly perpetually lively atmosphere. It will be hard to find seating, but usually the wait for drinks isnt too bad. If it is really busy, check out the other Starbucks literally one block down.

This Starbucks needs to be RENOVATED! The design, the smell, the air conditioning make it not an attractive place to sit and enjoy your coffee, tea, drink or snack..... From a BUSINESS perspective, this place needs to be renovated!

Great location in the center of Yales campus and the staff is wonderful! Im a regular there because of the location and most importantly the staff. They are always friendly and the managers are great.

Service is variable, but the newest baristas are actually much better than some of those working here last year. Edit - consistently bad as of 05/21/17. Go a block down to the better Starbucks.

All of the Yale students come here when they need to get work done so its a great place to grab some coffee, sit down with your laptop, and get to work in the atmosphere of a bunch of smart people

Always quick and helpful service. Gets busy because its in a high traffic area but always a nice play to relax and finish some work. Or to just enjoy some good coffee!
