Good selection but you need to be vigilant and check expiration and packaging dates. Have noticed items still for sale past expiration dates. Today I bought some smoked almonds pre-packaded in the nuts section labeled as "packed on 6/5/2017", well over a month ago. I bought them anyway, big mistake as they are not vacuum sealed and are simply in a plastic bag sealed with a wire tie. They are VERY stale. Blue Diamond Smokehouse almonds from a can taste much fresher and cost less. Person in charge of buying gets an A but the person in charge of quality control gets an F. I suspect they let items sit there for as long as it takes to sell them and view expiration dates as suggestions.

Decent neighborhood health food store. Decent selection of bulk food and herbs, especially for the size. Prices tend to be a little high, but not nearly as bad as whole paycheck. I have yet to see an expired item on the main shelves. Staff has always been polite, but not exceptionally helpful or thoughtful. For example I am standing in line for a smoothie and the guy making them doesnt tell me he is closing until I ask because he starts cleaning the equipment. The two things I like least are the limited hours, and the lack of meat and culture of vegetarians are holier than thou. I actually want a healthfood store, not a cult.

Whoever is that stupid woman that reluctantly gave me the prices over the phone to a list of herbs i was inquiring about....she is EXTREMELY rude. She had a nasty attitude and hung up the phone on me as soon as she quickly rattled off the prices to me. Because of that, Ill take my business elsewhere. Wow, and if you read all the other bad reviews on this place, everybody is mentioning what a terrible experience they had with this woman. The woman who works in the vitamin part. She is rude, condescending, disgusting and mean. I suggest you fire her, because she is OBVIOUSLY driving away a lot of your customers.

as the only veg market in town, this place has a real edge. the bakery and hot food are great. the selection of veg food is awesome. the prices are nearly as painful as Whole Paycheck, though, and the employees tend to be either condescending or disgruntled. Oddly, they have nearly no vegetarian cheese selections. Almost all of their cheese has animal rennet or enzymes. Considering how dogmatic they are about being all-veg, this is just silly.

This organic food store used be the only shop in town that I go to for "healthy" choices when it comes to nutrition. However, as of today, I am saddened that I will not be able to go back and buy their products as I saw some mice running from where the greens refrigerators are toward the fruits section. Would I ever recommend this shop to people? For health issues, I would say NO.

The produce is fresh, ok. But especially items that are expensive are not taken out of the shelves once theyve gone bad. Every single time weve been to the store, we came back with some expired items. Considering the price ($10 for some cookies), they should really be more careful about that. Also check your dairy, cream, milk, etc., this is certainly not what I call fresh.

This place is wonderful. Theres a great selection of affordable produce. Many of the foods are from local businesses in CT. There is not any Meat to be found here, but it does have Eggs, Cheese, and many Vegatarian, Vegan options. If youre into healthy fresh food, this is the place!

Love this place. Best healthfood store ive ever been too. Prices are what youd expect from a healthfood store, but they can have really great deals at times. Wayyyy cheaper than elm city market downtown. Hot food cant be beat for healthy, delicous food. Very inexpensive as well.

I love Edge of the Woods. Its a great place to get health foods, though it can be a little pricey. Their produce always looks great and they have a lot of variety. The bakery and deli section in the back (especially the fresh juice/smoothies) are wonderful!

The staff are friendly and the salad bar is very good! Parking is almost always available in the parking lot, and it is very convenient to be so close to Yale and the downtown area! Its a GREAT place!!
