I am very impressed with the customer service and selection of shoes at this location. You see, I am quite a large man at (6 feet, 330lbs) and I went to find a comfortable pair of shoes, as my job requires me to stand/walk back-and-forth for 8 hours every day. Typically, after my workday, the arches of my feet and the "ball" of my foot ache so badly, that walking to my car becomes a slow and painful process. The importance of footwear that can support my stationary weight and still be comfortable after a days work is paramount. So, I went to DSW on Mill Plain Road to hope that I would be able to find the solution, and luckily my wants and needs were met...in spades! I was approached by a young lady (sorry, but I didnt get her name) when I first entered the store, and was asked if I needed any help. I told her about how uncomfortable and painful my feet were after work each day, and that a lot of it was exacerbated by my weight. I told her what I felt would be ideal for my footwear, and she immediately sought out a fellow employee, "Curt", who she thought would probably be able to help me with my concerns the best. Let me tell you, Curt was absolutely amazing! He took the time to hear what I had to say, and showed a genuine interest in my long-winded explanation of how my line of work (coupled with my obesity) contributed to the pain in my feet, and what I was looking for in footwear. He took me through all of my options - from casual shoes to cross-trainers to boots; each time recommending what he felt would be best for me; things like whether or not to opt for slip-on shoes or laced ones; arch support, best width for me (as I have a propensity to retain fluids which causes my feet to swell), etc. He even politely asked what pricepoint I was comfortable with, and immediately accommodated me without a sneer or an eyeroll. He even took me over to the clearance section to see if there was anything that would be suitable for me. Curt was extremely professional and even offered to carry my footwear options along with us until I really was confident and happy with my decisions. The time I spent at DSW was definitely worth it, and never once did I ever feel pressured to buy anything or that I was unrealistic in the pricepoint that I felt comfortable in spending. All in all I left the store (with Curts help!) with 3 pairs of shoes, of which one was a clearance item, and spent a VERY reasonable amount. I actually left the store spending about $25 LESS than I was originally willing to spend, and with ONE MORE PAIR than I thought would be possible! I am sincerely thankful and happy that I chose this store, as I appreciated my whole shopping experience from start to finish. Thank you for making me (and ultimately my feet!) very happy. - Howie

Vast selection of shoes for men, women, and children. Some shoes are still a bit expensive and the deals are just a few dollars. The store is very clean with friendly staff. Each aisle has a shoe horn and disposable socks however there are no foot rulers for use. Dropped a star for not providing foot rulers to customers to measure their feet.

Fun Converse selection! We went looking for prom shoes and were able to find a pair easily. I like the brand selection from Marshalls and TJs better, but in a pinch there is a range of types of shoes here.
