CCM is on the way back to the office from many of my clients, so Ive gotten into the habit of stopping in for a cup of brewed coffee, or for a meeting with a client. Everyones taste in coffee is unique, and the bean you like may not be the bean I like, but they have about 7 of 11 varieties that I really enjoy. Its all fresh roasted and they only brew what seems to be rested for about 24 hours max. Excellent coffee. I highly recommend it. I have not yet purchased one of the copper mugs (free refills for a year with purchase), but intend to very soon (I think Im padding their balance sheet stopping by daily - it is really good coffee, though). If you stop by, you need to realize they are primarily a roasting operation and roast in the shop. If youre having a client meeting, the noise level can be high and the aroma of coffee while roasting is unique (some people, like myself, really like it - others do not). It will permeate your clothes a bit. It also raises the temp in the building in the summer. The barista work is excellent, although they do sacrifice tradition for a flame in the foam (cappuccino more like a latte) although Im sure if I asked, theyd reduce the level of steamed milk. The important thing to note is their espresso roast is excellent and smooth (Columbian medium to full city roast is the base for that, I think). Its really good and really consistent. I highly recommend CCM. Everybodys friendly, even while busy roasting.

The coffee in this place is excellent. The girl behind the counter helped me pick out a Guatamalan CoE (Cup of Excellence) at 36.00 a pound. When I asked her to grind it for me, she informed me that I could grind it but Id be spending premium dollars to ruin the coffee. She convinced me to buy a grinder, she didnt convince me to by the grinders they sell there but she was clear that not grinding as you go is a mistake and destroys the coffee if not brewed right away. Well she was right and I had the best coffee of my life. Now they only buy and brew, but they buy good stuff and have made it accessible and that is what its about. Someone wrote a review about a guy losing his bottomless cup and thus gave a bad review. I dont think thats really warranted as a free man in a free country can run his business the way he likes. Although I agree, the owner shouldve been more attentive to the customer. The place is still a blessing.

Overall, the coffee is great. They roast it and brew it themselves. The owner, however, is quite a jerk. They offer a coffee mug that costs $40.00 and gives you unlimited refills for free for a year. A good friend of mine had his truck stolen in NM and his mug was inside the truck. When we approached the owner about a replacement mug, he said it would cost us $40.00. We explained again what had happened and offered to pay cost for the mug; the owner said he couldn’t afford to give the cup away at cost. He said the business was losing money. My friend had been given Colorado Coffee Merchants plenty of free advertising at a local radio station and had been bringing in all of his friends to try the coffee. We have officially boycotted Colorado Coffee Merchants. A couple weeks later- the owner expanded his business to the office next door also... obviously "losing money".....

Coffee is good, but the owner ( middle aged, white male with grey hair?) was pretty rude. I had never been and I wanted to buy a few 1/2 lbs to send to friends. I waited in line for about 10 minutes and when I got to the front no one was behind me. I said "Hey Ive never been and I want to try some 1/2 lb coffee. I just know I want 4, half pound bags." As I was talking a large family came in after me. Instead of listening to what I wanted for a minute he said "Go sit down and we will come to talk to you about it." I thought, thats weird, but I did. He came over about 10 minutes later to day "That will be $50." I said "What, what did I order?" In retrospect I should have walked away, but I was frazzled, paid and left. When I got home I found out he didnt grind the beans (or ask if I wanted them ground- I did!). That was $50 for 4, half pounds of un-ground coffee by the way.

Extremely rude owner! I was looking for whole bean coffee. The shelves were pretty bare but I know they have more in the back so I got in line. While he was completing the order for the person in front of me, he asked what I wanted. I asked "What do you have?" His snide response: " We have 25 different ones. Do you want me to list them all?" I guess so since you dont have a visible list and I cant read your mind. So I said I was interested in single bean and no blends. "All we have is blends!" So I left. I have been here before and purchased whole beans that were not blends so I know they do carry them. He could have said, "Im sorry but right now we only have blends in stock but please come back next week and we may have more then." PLEASE do not buy your coffee here. There are way too many other options and life is too short to have to put up with rudeness.

I discovered this locally owned, one of a kind coffee shop when I opened an art studio a few blocks away in 2007. Thank heavens Starbucks never put a shop in this neighborhood, because that is where I used to get my coffee, and CCM is so much better, I cant explain it. The people who work there really care about their customers and achieving excellence in their products, they are very knowledgeable about all aspects of coffee, and super helpful. I have brought many friends and coworkers to CCM over the years, and everybody loves the coffee and the shop. Every year since 2007 I bought a new copper mug and got a year of free refills plus discounts on special coffee drinks. Please google "The Artie Show" for my interview with the shops owner. This place is highly recommended!

Best coffee Ive ever found! Im a little bit of a coffee snob, as I predominantly drink decaf & its very hard to find a non-bitter, smooth, highly palatable decaf... so in my eternal search (other than some great restaurant coffees..) I found a match.. for over 3 years now, Ive been buying my beans here & savor every cup.. I do pay a premium per pound, but in my world, its worth it :).. BTW, Ive had a mug for over 2 years now & the "renewal" is completely on the honor system, as Ive questioned why they dont track this, like 99% of other entrepreneurs would? They continue to stay on the "honor system".. Its cool :) Ive also been much further educated on coffee roasting & the process of making decaf than I ever would have imagined.. This is my CO Springs coffee!
