About 4 days ago I stopped at this Home Depot and as I was walking toward the front doors, I noticed the large American Flag on the pole on the roof and it was at half staff. Im currently without a TV during remodel work and wasnt aware of anything that had happened that the flags would be at half staff. I stopped at the Customer Service desk and 3 employees were back their and I asked about the Flag. No one knew why it would be at half staff and also thought it was odd. Today as Im near the same Home Depot I see that not only is the flag still at half staff, it is now only attached at the top grommet. Home Depots American Flag is whipping around by the top grommet at half staff! Obviously the Manager would want to know this so he can fix this disrespect of our flag. Again, I go to the Customer Service desk and ask to speak with the manager. The nice girl at the desk asks if its something she can help with and I tell her the story about asking 4 days ago and now how it is. She calls back to the Manager (who apparently was too busy to come up front) and she relied my concerns and his reply was he is "very well informed about it", but nothing about he is working on fixing this right away. The thing about it is this, we havent had an incident where the flags were lowered to half staff for over 4 months that Im aware of. At some point, someone was told to go put the flag at half staff and then no one has ever changed it. Now this poor flag is hanging by 1 hook and the Manager for the store is just far too busy to fix it, even when he is well aware of the situation. Time for a new Manager.

Many people at this Home Depot are friendly and extremely helpful. A couple of people that are consistent and always a pleasure to talk to and very nice. Helpful. And go way above and beyond are Chuck and Chris at the Pro Desk and Richard who is usually in garden. And a couple of others who I am not able to bring up their names due to my age and lack of memory. Richard knows one of the female employees I am referring to. To get back to what I was saying......The people at this Home Depot are in general very good at saying hi and recognizing you are a valued customer. Chuck Chris and Richard in particular always take time to say hello and ask about our latest projects or how we are doing and most important thank us for our business. I cannot stress how important it is to acknowledge a customer by just saying hello. It really means a lot to us to just be recognized and know that you are noticing us as customers and not take us for Granted. A simple hi means the difference between a repeat customer or one who will go to the competition the next time because an employee did not take 2 seconds to say HI. I have been in the customer service business my whole career starting 10 years in retail. Then 25 years in Fedex retiring as a Manager. I did many special projects for Fedex to help improve the customers experience.

New stores are great because you dont have the crowds to deal with, so service is terrific. For the most part, W. Sac is a new home area so the nursery is busy but the rest of the store is not. If you know what you need, best to avoid asking the employees, they are not very well trained and are young enough to not have much experience. It took them over 1 hour to match a paint color. Once it was mixed, the woman took a little dab out and put the new color directly on top of the old paint, completely covering it....i was beside myself by that time and I asked what she was doing and why she didnt put the new color next to the old color to see if it actually matched and she told me "thats how we do it here and no one complained about it", "everybodys eyes are different".

Was not good. Stopped by Friday, pre-op for an order of fencing materials. The saleswoman was very nice, said it will be ready Saturday morning 7am. Thats where the niceness stopped. Arrived Saturday morning at 7:30 am, and was informed that they were low staffed and couldnt get to it. I wound up getting the items myself, and then part of the order was concrete so it took about 20 minutes for them to get a second guy to flag. I jumped in to load the concrete bags. I did 16 to the workers 6. The worker then watched me load all my other materials with no offer of help. All of this is on their security cameras. Sad when billion dollar companies just dont care about the small people anymore

I went to this store and found the staff to be very friendly and most helpful One employee in particular was the most helpful, Emma G. She seemed to really be the most highly trained person at the register. she also lugged all the 8x10 carpets we purchased to our car since my husband has a bad back. I agree this new store is way more user friendly. we went to one near Fair Oaks and they could not be bothered to get out of their chair in the rug dept. But the young lady monitoring the self checkout was very helpful in contrast, as were the lads outside trying to tie the rug down on our roof.

Very unprofessional service with the rental department , when you rent a machine you shouldnt have to run all over the store having an associate tell you where the item is and for it not to be there , the solution for the tool your renting it should be right with the machine , then when your done running around the store trying to get the right stuff you have to wait another 20 minutes in line and the people skills just were very crappy.....I will never go to the west sac reed store again!!! These employees should take training from the roseville store......

Okay place to buy stuff there. Employees arent that friendly, but they will show you where products are located in the store. They arent that knowledge in terms of what you might need and what alternatives are there to help you accomplish your mission cheaper and easier. Kind of pricey and it doesnt stand out as being so awesome of a place. You are not going to be wowed. I am not a professional, just some guy expressing himself to the world.

I have been in this store several times since buying a condo nearby. A little difficlut to find the entrance from the freeway, but once you get there, by far the best service I have ever had in any Home Depot. Seems like there is always a friendly face to greet you and someone right there willing to spend whatever time it takes to help you find what you need. Exceptionally great shoping experience.

I asked an associate where a cap valve for a sprinkler was and he randomly told me to go to aisle 6; which is completely wrong and he knew it. He looked at another employee and smiled (knowing he sent me to another aisle to blow me off). I have a date/time and the identity if HD cares.
