We were searching for donuts one morning while taking my husband to work in Upland. We saw a small shoppe across from his job and wanted to go in but saw that there was no one soul either buying the donuts nor making the donuts so we thought, "we are definitely not going there". So my husband turned on my Google Maps locator and typed in donuts and "BOOM" up popped Upland Donuts. First off, my husband and I are considered "donut aficionados." We pretty much scour California for the best donuts (and Cupcakes) we can find and grade them accordingly. Then we saw "Jeremiahs" critique (the one below ours) and thought there is no way a donut shop that good is nestled away in a small city like Upland. Never the less, we decided to give it a shot as we were only 5 minutes away. To our befuddlement, we pull up and see that this regular run of the mill looking donut shop buried in a strip mall with a major grocery store and bagel joint across the way. No 20 foot donut spinning on the top of the building, no sign twirlers boasting best donuts ever pointing to the store front, not even a stand alone building! They are next door to a cleaners for goodness sake. HOWEVER, we then noticed the suprisingly high number of breakfast seekers gathering at their front door, and more arriving the longer I sat and stared so I curiously exited the vehicle to nab a spot in "line". As my turn finally came about, I was able to actually see the donuts for my self. They were noticebly "plumper" than other ordinary donut shop varieties and their french crullers and cake donuts seemed just as big as their other rounds, which is rare. My husband went with the maple old fashioned, my son, the cake with sprinkles and myself, the chocolate cake w choc sprinkles. My husband said smiling that after his first bite that it was crunchy and soft, sweet and noticibly BETTER if not the best old fashioned hed had in a while. My son and I agreed that ours were as well noticibly better tasting. Before we left, feeling pleased but not totally convinced, my husband said that the glazed donuts looked different and there was something about them that called out and said "try me". I convinced him to run in and grab one, just so we can taste it and chock Jeremiahs claim up to him just having a home town preference for his donuts. One bite.....and pow! We found it! The best glazed donut we have ever had! I said it, you saw it here. Best..... period. Imagine if you will a Krispy Kreme glazed donut but with girth, cooked slightly longer, and without that funny smell. They were perfect. Big, fluffy and airy and flavorful. One bite and the whole thing just dissolves in your mouth! Ridiculous! And because they are always busy (not crowded or agitatingly busy) the round donuts have an 85% chance of being warm! Yes warm donuts from an ordinary donut shop and not Krispy Kreme. Whats even more amazing is that this same concept of plump, fluffy, airy, dissolve in your mouth loveliness, is available iced in chocolate, maple, twisted or even filled with custard (this one is my favorite). Yes, this is the best donut shop weve found (aside from Stans donuts in Westwood!) What a hidden gem. Its a shame more people dont know about this place, but maybe, just maybe this will help. Thank you Jeremiah for your true assessment of Upland Donuts and for ultimately convincing us to give it a try. P.S. twice or thrice a week you will see my husband and I up there. That good!

These are, by far, the best donuts Ive ever had!! Also, the employees/owners are very friendly! Im a good believer on giving a food business a good and honest rating based on food, service, and other factors. So even though their donuts are dangerously delicious, I am giving them a 4 star rating because they ONLY accept cash and thats a big issue for me because, as a delivery driver, I dont like carrying cash with me. Coffee is average. :-)

I grew up on these Donuts. I moved to Portland OR and what can I say, I didnt really know that donuts everywhere else werent good. What people think donuts are good in other places is a pity because they dont hold a candle to Upland Donut. Years later after I had ranted and raved about this shop, I had the opportunity to bring my brother in law there, and his verdict was that I couldnt have made enough hype about how good they truly are.

Best doughnuts I have ever had. Theres places with a lot of hype, but this place is the best. Fresh, soft, and perfect. The humble owners have worked hard for at least 3 decades that I know of and are still humble, hard workers. My two favorites are the maple bar and the custard filled chocolate! Mmmm. Amazing.

If youre in the area, you have to stop here! My husband grew up in this area, and we go to the donought shop daily. Any other donut place we go to can compare. Im now an official donut snob! Glazed donut holes and ham and cheese croissant are my favorite!

Best donuts in the Inland Empire so far!!! Grizzlys and Pixies its a close second. Fresh, warm and big and soft and Sweet. Like goodsm krispie Kreme donuts but with a better flavor. Literally melts in your mouth and dissolves. Its so damn good...

Dude, I thought these reviews were fake but I saw this place and had to give it a try. A parking lot filled with cops, business folk and chubby gents doesnt lie. If your on a diet dont come here pretend donuts are gross.

Best donuts I have ever tasted! Seriously good, no lie. Ordinary donut shop, abnormally scrumptious donuts. Watch out for the cream puffs, they are addicting, and sell out quick. Go early and you get hot donuts. Love em

THE WORST!!!!!! A big fat fly was baked right into a filled doughnut...It was disgusting and obnoxious...When I called to tell them, they woulnt do anything about it. I will report them to the Sanitation dept.

These donuts dont even compare to other shops. They are in a class all by themselves. Just their plain glazed donuts are enough to hook you, but check out the buttermilk bars and the cinnamon rolls too!
