Del Amo Shopping Center (south of Carson St) and Del Amo Fashion Square (north of Carson St) were joined via an enclosed pedestrian bridge above Carson St to form what was then, the worlds largest mall, and over the years its association with major anchors like Sears, Macys, Marshals, JC Pennys and others have helped to assure that this its the major go-to leisure shopping and browsing destination for the South Bay. On any given day, multitudes of people flock to this mega retail complex - some just to walk and browse the shops, or dine in the various food courts, and of course make purchases from particular establishments situated here among the family of large and small stores, eateries, theaters, gyms, and kiosk vendors that abound. The "Del Amo Mall" as it is colloquially referred to almost universally is a destination in and of itself, a respite from the daily routine or the place where kids go to socialize or others find is a great place to take in the sights and enjoy coffee or purchase home appliances - This place has it all.

I used to shop at this mall as a kid in the 90s. The smaller shops have come and go while the anchors kind of remain right where they are, with the exception of like the Montgomery Ward that has been completely replaced by outside pavilion stores and restaurants like BJs and P.F. Changs. The point is, this mall is always in a state of positive and exciting, innovative change, such as the conversion of the North side into a cleaner looking, modernized look as opposed to the old dark spectacled weird floors and overall unattractive, almost haunted two flooord linearity when Montgomery Ward was still the anchor of that side. There is a tale of several parking garages, where the ones on the north end closer to the AMC is almost always with open parking, while the one close to the Carson Street "Underpass" where people can use an escalator upwards to the mall, is almost always a nightmare to find a parking spot at peak hours. That alone doesnt detract from the excellent shopping experience that this good old mall has to offer.

Not too crowded, really cool shops especially the huge toy/novelty item store and the used electronics store that had good prices on phones, tablets, laptops and a huge selection of cheap Blu-rays and DVDs and they also pay good money for your used stuff. In general its lacking in stores and could use another dozen at least but its under construction and there are more stores opening soon... Overall I felt very safe there with my young children and we had a good time and got some great deals on used merchandise in the above-mentioned shops. Food court is nice but small, If it had more quality stores and doesnt let any more chain food restaurants in I think it will be a success. It has all you need from department stores from the high-end Macys all the way down to Burlington Coat Factory where you can get great discounts on brand name clothes. 4 stars for lack of stores butt looks newly renovated and nice overall theres too much empty space other than that its great shopping and a safe.

If this is the 5th biggest mall in the US than I must say, that I am very disappointed and expected more of an US american mall. I were visiting from Germany and have seen bigger and much better shopping malls in Munich. It is way to small and doesnt offer many shops. About 25 to 30 percent of the mall is Macys (which is way more expensive than the Macys Center in Downtown f. e. a Levis 505 jeans cost 68 USD in Del Amo but 48 USD in Downtown) and 30 % are places to eat (many small and not good looking places and a huge food area). The other stores are way to small to find anything good. In addition those stores are even more expensive than Macys (the Levis Jeans in the Levis store should cost 78 USD!). The mall is definitely not worth a visit. Better go to Macys in downtown (for me it was fortunately only 0.3 miles away from the hotel, thanks to the station at 7th street it should be more accessible with public transport services) and go to "The Counter" afterwards ;)

GLITZY STORE IN DEL AMO FASHION CENTER. I did not enjoy my shopping here. The lady there was too much bothered about her clothes. The place is cramped and we dont have enough room to shop . Also since we entered the shop they were monitoring us and were giving us uncomfortable looks. The ladies there were very rude to us and we said they should have instruction which says please be careful about the clothes or something like that , they asked us not to complain and when we said you are rude, they asked us to "get out". This is awefull , I am educated and working mom. I think I dont deserve this kind of treatment in such a mall , I pray god to punish her for insulting me . I am offended by that word "Get out" and I wish god teaches her a good lesson.

For me, Del Amo Mall had been a familiar destination for over thirty years. Changing only slightly over most of that time it offered a sense of steady comfort, a place where I knew my way to almost any shop within. As of the last few years it has begun undergoing a renovation on a massive scale. While at first it was a little jarring Ive come to see it as a renewal that was long past due. The contrast of new areas to the still-present old showcases the changes in design sensibility from the original heyday to now. The much brighter, open design, newer shops, and outdoor pavilion are eye-opening and have reinvigorated the spot. While I will occasionally wax nostalgic for the haunts of my youth I welcome the continuing renewal of this South Bay gem.

This place is AMAZ-BALLS! Full remodeled if you haven’t been... it’s a MUST! The mall is clean with most of the stores you want (minus super high end stores like Tiffany’s). It’s a true suburban mall. Lots of great restaurants like Frida’s, Ding Tai Fung, and Lemonade. The 1st phase remodel section that’s outside by the AMC is still really nice to walk around but the entire mall is just great. You can even walk to the far end (South of Carson) to find some odd ball stores and Army recruitment offices. There are even some legacies like an Outback, Sears, and Barnes and Noble! Parking is tricky outside during peak hours so I highly recommend one of the several decks. They usually have pretty easy parking.

This shopping center has high ceilings that adds to a more open space. Live foliage are worked on some of the walls & steps, which helps make the experience a bit more enjoyable and somewhat relaxing. Ample lounge areas are peppered all across the mall. Upscale, this also has some stores that somewhat contributes to the trendy ambiance and beautiful architecture. It can use an Apple Store and some other tech stores as well. It wouldnt hurt to have some misting fixtures or interactive water area for hot days, especially around the outdoor businesses. Parking is sort of an adventure. The other day, I went with family on two vehicles and it was the first time we have ever parked on level 2 (by Macys).

The mall is nice with the remodel.it seems big but in general not many stores to go to becausee they arent atores usually in the price range. The people arent the kindest, and it doesnt seem like the food court has much to chose from. Not a family mall at all.. Nothing kid friendly besides 2 quarter rides u find in front of a grocery store in the back of the mall that hasnt been remodeled . For them 2 remodel a small section of the mall only placing a few stores in that area making it hard to be able to buy a few t-shirts w/ $20 Im disappointed in the re model ! Specially aince only one section was remodeled and left out 2-sections just makes the mall look bad and run down
