I have been shopping here for the past 4 years. Im not from San Francisco I live in Texas, so I come here for my yearly family trip to this lovely city. When I walked into this shop 4 years ago I was wearing a 36 DD. At the time I thought all my back problems were caused by my girls. However, the associate which helped me happened to be the owner. She was very lovely and kind, she also asked if I had been properly fitted. I was like of course, she said well do you mind if I show you some of our bras and see if you are the size your saying. I was like sure why not. The owner of this place was such a professional in my most vulnerable state, having my girls out and having another person in the room other than my husband was a little weird for me. But she was so sweet. Long story short all the money I wasted on VS bras that cost a fortune and they were the wrong size. I was finally sized to a 34G and my back problem was gone. This helped my posture and Im not a big girl 5.2 145. Dont discredit these lovely ladies because of a few bad reviews. I do not shop for my bras anywhere else other than here and yes they are more expensive then the other popular brands but if you take care of them and rotate them out they last. Cant wait for my next trip in a few days. Thank you Alla Prima for taking care of my girls!

I have been shopping at Alla Prima since 9/11/2001. That fall I decided it was time to enjoy every day and not save nice lingerie for a special occasion. I found the sales people and owner to be extremely thoughtful and they not only measured me correctly but there was amazing selection in ALL sizes. I have been, thanks to two pregnancies, nursing and successful maintained weight loss, everything from a B to a DD. I dont think the two reviews below are representative of my experience over 10 years at Alla Prima and all the friends and family I have brought in to buy lingerie as well, including my daughter, who is a tiny and unusual size. I argued to be a bigger band size than I was, and they were right. I was a 34 all along, not a 36. The quality of the gorgeous lingerie, swimwear and sleepwear that they display and sell has spoiled me for other shops. But then you have to be sophisticated and refined to appreciate beautifully designed and made couture lingerie. Its not for everyone. I have bought bras for my mother here and she loved the fabulous bra I selected, had gift wrapped and sent to her for her 75th birthday. She was thrilled. I am a B cup and have found a terrific selection of bras in my size, as they do really choose wonderful items for all sizes.

I have enjoyed my visits here and left with exquisite lingerie sets. My first visit, however, required the saleswoman to take my measurements. She took advantage of the close quarters to ask me if I was confident I could afford the prices.

THe selection was terrific the salesgirl sized me completely wrong and none of the bras I bought fit properly once I wore them around. I trusted her judgment and felt let down.
