We make weekly visits to Nomad for donuts either before our errands, or after the gym. There is always something new to try--whens the last time you heard that about a donut shop? Small and humble shop that also manages to serve excellent coffee and espresso drinks, along with an average offering of two dozen different donut flavors. Youll find a lot of fruity/tropical flavors and naturally colorful glazes, as well as rich flavors presented in novel ways (e.g. "Irish Coffee Car Bomb"). 2-4 flavors mashed up into each donut, and about 1/3 of their offerings are vegan, if thats youre style. Follow them on social media to scope the days menu and narrow down your decisions. Cant wait for these guys to expand. Our entire gym loves them (especially the weightlifters), I tell all my friends, and bring any out of town guests. Also dont miss their sell-out beer+donut pairings with Thorn St. Brewery! Always a good time.

If I hadnt already had Nomad donuts prior to visiting the store I might have been a little suspicious of the quality just based on the humble interior and worn-down exterior. There is very little room inside, and if youre like me and have trouble making donut selections for your dozen--too many amazing flavors!--it can be tough not to feel rushed if there is even one person in line behind you. But the customer service is great, and the donuts themselves, especially the vegan ones (and Im not even vegan, I just try to go easy on animal products for the planet) are just unbelievable. They often have ones filled with mango or blackberry jam and oh boy, those are seriously dangerous for me. But Ill be honest--it seems like theres no such thing as a bad (do)nut from Nomad.

I dont I think the name adequately describes their passion for donuts. They are mad about them. Its not necessarily the batter they use that makes them so unique. Its the fusion of flavors sometimes inside (filled) or outside (glazed, iced) or both that sets them a part. My cantaloupe and prosciutto glazed that I had the other day is not necessarily the flavors I would put on a donut, unless I was at the fair. But by no means is this fair food! It is an unexpected delight of unique flavors and ideas conveyed to your stomach by means of a humble donut. Give them a try, you wont be disappointed. Try the panthers milk while youre tje

PROS: - Delicious & different variety EVERY. DAY. Although their "Good Ol Donuts" rarely change (follow them via Instagram for the next days flavors) - Vegan options for most of their donut flavors - They now have a second location - They sell coffee - They sell apparel CONS (nothing concerning their flavors or customer service) - Not a serious one, but theyre open until sell-out. So its more a con for YOU, not for Nomads - It can get BUSY (although Ive never been there when its busy); its also small so youll be waiting outside - Street parking can be iffy around the busy times MY RECOMMENDATION: - Mocha Chip; PB&J

Not only are the Vegan Donuts amazing but the customer service was more than we could ask for. The guy at the counter patiently went through each donut flavor for us and let us know what flavor profiles each of them had. HE loves his job and was beyond patient with us as we tried to decide which flavors to purchase.Nomad sells raised Vegan donuts which we cant find in the Bay Area. The flavors are unique and tasty and they offer good coffee as well and the beans are available for purchase. They also have a great logo and sell t-shirts, tanks and sweatshirts too if you are into that kind of thing.

Went here for the first time and grabbed a dozen and the vegan box that comes with four which cost a total of $32 dollars... Umm the donuts are okay at best and my wife and I notice they are nothing more then regular donuts with fancy flavor glaze on top. Yes imagine regular donuts all that bread with a spin on glaze and thats it. Im a donut freak and Im telling you to take your business elsewhere to the Donut Bar downtown. At least when you spend that much the whole donut has gone through a dramatic change and for cheaper. I really hate my stupid brother for even mentioning this place.

Nomad bakes likely the best donuts in San Diego thanks to a combination of awesome dough and really unique and tasty flavors like pineapple jam coconut raspberry. The donuts are perfectly fluffy with just a hint of crunch on the outside. The toppings are decadent. I love the banana peanut butter chocolate cake one which is a perfect combination of the three favorite flavors of Elvis. You also can’t go wrong with anything habenero which is quite spicy. The space is pretty tiny and there are only a few tables outside, so it’s best to take them to go and find your own spot.

I love this place. The donuts are so creative and yummy and the coffee is top notch. Theyve got vegan donuts, too. They are very conscious of their vegan and vegetarian customers: I got a dozen, and one of the donuts had bacon, and without even having to ask, they wrapped the bacon donut in some pastry paper, so the others didnt get contaminated which my vegetarian sister would have been upset about. Theres not a lot of parking, but its north park, so a lot of places are like that. Also, they run out of flavors the closer they get to closing, so I always come early.

Is this place overrated? I think so. The donuts were not that tasty. I give them credit for creativity but taste overrides creativity for me. We visited late in the day and most donuts were sold out. There is not a lot of parking choices. We circled the blocks a few times. We ended up parking in a residential street and walking. The walk to Nomad was an experience, a lot of interesting people hanging out in those streets. Nomad Donut is one and done for me. I probably wont be back.

Nomad donuts offer creative gourmet donuts in unique flavors that works. We got the Pineapple Jam Strawberry Passionfruit and Pistachio donut. I love all the flavors packed into the Passionfruit donut. It had a good amount of sweet and tanginess. I also enjoyed the Pistachio donut and love how they incorporated the pistachios in their glaze and topped it off with pistachios chunks. I cant wait for their second location to open up and look forward to chillin at the new spot.

Donuts are all cold. This is 30min after opening. If thats their style I cant ding them on that alone. I went on a Saturday and there was no line so not a bad wait like some other specialty donut shops. I tried 4 types and for my tastes nothing special about any of them. 1 hr after opening there was a line of 10+ people. More cons, 4 tables outside, no trashcan. 0 room to squeeze by people waiting in line to find the trashcan inside. Good luck.

Voted best donut in San Diego, and for good reason. They have a massive selection including Vegan options. Nomad also has a variety of both yeast risen and cake donuts. Menu of varieties is posted daily. This place is small, so nice to grab your order and enjoy elsewhere. But there are a few tables out front if you are lucky enough to scoop one. If you want to make this a super decadent treat, order the Panther Milk to wash down your donut.
