I was shopping at Safeway and the lines are outrageous. It took a Littel over 20min. The cashier I had was very, slow then he wanted me to bag my own stuff I looked at him and waited for him to get to bagging. I asked dont you have a helper to help you bag. He said Safeway wants people to start bagging their own bags. I sad no not me I pay for your service by buying at your store. He just looked at me and starting bagging. I cant wait tell Sprouts across the street opens up. Because they lost this customer. Safeway use to be a good store back in the days now they lost their way in taking care of people. Safeway need some to hire more people. I am just saying take care of your customers.

Terrible Safeway staffed with absolute incompetents. Pretty sure it starts at the top as I asked to speak to someone in charge because there was nobody in the butcher shop or fish counter. I didnt want to just walk around and grab the items myself. They sent some poor stocking clerk who looked like shed only been there a day and knew nothing. "The managers are all too busy to see you. Can I help you?" I asked her to give me a piece of meat behind the counter but she said that she wasnt allowed to. This was a culmination of a number of bad experiences and now will only go if I absolutely have to. And theres a bunch of grocery stores nearby...

Has everything we need and is close to our work. Parking is hard to come by so plan to go during non peak hours. Be careful in their parking lot because some drivers dont look when turn or backing out. This Safeway has a self checkout which is very convenient and Starbucks located inside.

They have nothing I use. Gluten free products are a joke....I hate the Newark store. Employees are overworked. Lines of customers are down the isles and trying to shop when someone is standing in a checkout line 15 carts deep is nonsense. Raleys was a better store by far!!!

Ive been here many times, & Im still trying to figure out why they refuse to open more lines. Please hire more cashiers to make it a pleasant shopping experience. All the workers are great very helpful... Just not enough of them.

Always seems to be crowded no matter what time of day although it is fairly clean. More often then not they dont have some essentials (milk, eggs, frozen chicken) in stock. Just your typical grocery store.

This is my local Safeway. I love that the cashiers are so sweet and they remember me by name every time. I love siggis skyr yogurt and they always have them in stock. Good location.

Horrible customer service. The cashiers are very rude to customers. They are very unprofessional. The lines are always down the isles. We will never shop there area.

Often come here to get sandwiches when I work in the area. Pretty much all the Safeway staff is nice. Carlo usually gets my sandwiches. He is a good guy.
