First, its conveniently located on Hillhurst right across from Albertsons and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf so that most of what I need is within handy distance. I think the reason theyre closed on Sunday is that thats the Christian Sabbath day. (The owner belongs to the Mormon Church.) They are, however, open every other day of the week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., so their hours are actually very convenient on weekdays as well as on Saturdays. The store itself is small, but its filled with organic produce and other foods, vitamins, creams and cosmetics, baked goods, all sorts of goodies fresh and frozen. The best coconut oil I have used to date, and have yet to find elsewhere, I purchased here (Cadia). Their prices are a tad high, but they have good sales from time to time, and some things dont cost much more here than they would at your local supermarket. The quality of customer service, as is often the case, depends on the person serving you (and his/her mood that day). All in all, a good place to shop and even purchase things you never intended to.

*This is only a review of the deli department* (from which I recommend you stay away.) The rest of the store is great. In fact the people all seem great and friendly (if a little too stoned sometimes maybe?) The deli department, on the other hand...is an unmitigated culinary disaster in almost every way. The freshly made juices are a total hit or miss (the bottled ones--while amazing that theyre in glass, range from passable to downright awful.) Who on earth is in charge of the recipes in this place? But the absolute worst, and it may be a recent development as last time I was in town about 18 months ago I lived partly off a couple of these and they were good, are the freshly made wraps that are, as of this writing...well, lets just say I dare you to order the bbq chicken wrap...I dare you. Enough said.

thoroughly disorganized, non-stop construction that seems to be mismanaged, irresponsibly high prices, and the quality of the produce and other products has gone down significantly since taking over Nature Mart. Why do they feel compelled to change what was there: a good thing that was part of the community. This place is wrong, a failure, that should either shut down, move to the valley, or sell it to someone who gives a damn.

Oh come on people! (Those who did not give it 5 stars) This place is utterly deserving of 5 stars! Fresh produce, organic raw milk, a variety of super organic health products And vitamins, a super good deli where they make sandwiches and juice drinks! It is a health nuts dream! I love the place!

They have a great selection of fresh produce, wonderful juice bar and all of the little specialty health things I love - raw milk and cheese, pastured raised eggs, etc. While I would love it if they were open Sundays I respect the owners choice.

The owner donated to Californias Proposition 8, the anti-gay marriage initiative (which was later overturned). I live a block from the store, but will not be spending my hard-earned dollars to support the owners agenda.

I have attempted to shop here multiple times, but they are closed on Sundays, one of the only days I have free to shop. Anybody else find this extremely frustrating? NOTE TO LASSENS: We are trying to give you money.

I love Lassens! They have a great selection of Paleo products. I also love their selection at the Salad bar and Grab n Go. Very reasonably priced. You can always trust to find great product here!

great store, variety, produce, and deli/sandwich area with premade yummy things. parking is a NIGHTMARE, tiny lot, rich folks with big SUVs that dont know how to park

The smallest Lassens Ive ever been to.. with non-existing parking (for 5-7 cars max). Products sometimes stay on the shelfs past their due date. Pay attention.
