I went into the shop and Luis House was available for a walk-in. I showed him the drawing that I wanted and he immediately said that the tattoo wouldnt be too much because it was simply an outline. He said he would need to draw it up, to give me a quote on price. After drawing the characters, he confirmed I liked the drawing and began to set up. I stopped him and asked him how much it would be. Luis specifically said $80. Pleased with the price, my friend even repeated the price of $80 and Luis confirmed asking me if that price was good. After the tattoo, I asked if I could pay with credit and Luis pulled out his Square. He took my card and swiped it in his Square and then asked for my email to send the receipt. When I received the receipt later that night I saw that the charge was for $180. I called Luis the next day and he defended his overcharge by saying that the shop has a $150 per hour fee and the tattoo and setup took a little over an hour. Luis NEVER explained that the shop had a hourly charge in the multiple times we asked for pricing on the tattoo. My tattoo was literally an OUTLINE of six 1.5in X 1.5in simple characters. Luis repeatedly said the tattoo wouldnt be "too much" bc of the simple outline. Im not sure when "too much" became a starting price of $150 or why he couldnt simply say there was an hourly rate of $150. It really sucks that Luis turned out to be this type of person and fraudulently overcharged my card. My tattoo was ok, although the outline was still a little thin, when I kept asking to go thicker. But Luis is a decent artist, so I would advice to triple confirm the price and pay with cash if youre going to work with him.

hey whats up everyone, this is a straight up serious review for my boy jim parchen over at art & soul this man is a true artist ( he dont f*** around) i been a huge horror movie fan since a little 1st grader i grew up watching those slasher movies our parents forbid us see...i am a huge Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees fan...so i decided now that im all grown up now i wanted to tattoo them both on my arm. i honestly had no idea who to go to. but like everyone else does i did some research online trying to find a good artist and thank god he put jim parchen in front of me. jim is not only a horror movie fan himself the man has talent he pays very close attention to detail. I 1st went to him with my ideas and he made them made better. jim is very openminded and takes his time to perfect. I mean my tattoos look f**** real!!!! im talking about 3D Lol...any ways if you want something similiar go to art and soul and see Jim!!! or anything other type of tattoo. but final words all the artist at art & soul are good i seen there work. I was recently treated to the ULTIMATE 50th birthday surprise (by my hubby & daughter) of a custom tattoo by artist Jim Parchen. Talk about the BEST experience I could have ever asked for! Not only is the studio super clean and neat, the staff are all uber friendly, especially the sweetie from Ohio who kept us entertained & involved. Jim did such a wonderful job on my custom arm piece; he took my ideas and put them into a beautiful work of art that I will cherish always! Not only is he a perfectionist, Jim took the time to position my piece exactly in the best spot and took his time making my artwork the ultimate in beauty and detail. He never excluded us from conversation, but was always engaging and open. The feel in this shop is nothing less than positive and energetic; I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop and artist Jim Parchen to anyone who might be thinking of getting inked. Jim would be especially great for newbies & first timers - hes awesome. Wish I could post pics of my art!

Over the past fifteen years I've gotten 15 tattoos by 10 different artists at Art & Soul!!! Each one is absolutely perfect! I love that they always have a professional staff, and many of my favorite guest artists are so happy with the place, they return year after year so I can collect more from people from around the world, when I might not have a chance to otherwise. The staff is always friendly and everyone seems really genuinely happy to work there. It's also hospital-like clean and owned by a reputable international artist who sets the standards really, really high (unlike other shops who look like their portfolios are smeared with ham or are owned by non-tattooing art-pimps). this had been one of the best shops in LA since 1996 and will be around for ages to come. The artists make time for you, have ZERO bad-ttitude and are extremely reasonably priced. The only shop I've been tattooed at in Los Angeles in 15 years and I still have no desire to stray

So I stop into the shop after hearing really cool stuff about it it thru other people and this artist (Tiffany) helps me out. Over the course of a couple of sessions, Tiffany does a pair of arm pieces that FREAKING ROCK and introduces and hooks me up with the owner "Erika" whos nothing short of AWESOME as we hit if off as well. I now am getting a bunch of work done as Erika is correcting OLD tattoos done elsewhere making them look Fanfreakingtastic. SERIOUSLY! Im from LA have traveled a lot in Rock & Roll, met a lot of tattoo Artists, but have to say, Erika is 1 of the sweetest approachable artists ever ...and I really like talking with Tiffany too ~ (My arms are on FIRE with amazing color now thanks to her) The other guys there like Luis and Danny are cool too. Everyone is polite, patient and informative especially to those who are tattoo "newbies" I give Art & Soul Tattoo Co. 7 out of 5 ☆s

While I was still in the US Army in Alabama, then South Korea, and then Alabama again I would love to come out to L.A. not to just visit my Brother and His Family, but to also visit Erika and Staff. It was always the highlight of my trip westward. I have gotten some great custom ink from This Shop, and I hope to get more. Erika and her shop staff (Adam, Brian, Danny, Joby, Illya are some of the best artists youll find on the west coast!) , Theyll make you feel at home whether you just stop by once or multiple times. Erika also has some of the greatest inksters from around the world guesting at her studio all year round, Check this shop out, youll not be disappointed.

Dont hesitate just go You leave smiling ear to ear. I went here to get my first tattoo. Walked in and the store was very clean and professional. I didnt have an appointment but I called and as soon as the girl answered the phone I felt good vibes! I was smiling and knew I wanted to go here. Then I talked to the artist, Danny, over the phone and he was so friendly. 30 minutes later i was in the shop under the gun! He prides himself in making the tattoo perfect and making sure you like it and are comfortable. Great experience and Im definitely getting my next one here!!
